I used a Gateway Emunand backup I had and renamed it but I also had my previous OTP dump and just started on step 5.question
ok, so can I skip step 3 if I already have emunand set up?I used a Gateway emuNAND and started on step 5. Just progress as if you're using RedNAND.

ok thanksIf I remember right, yes. I read everything to be safe, but don't think I did anything until step 5. But be sure to back up both NANDs.
Neither is emuNAND. Same can be said for redNAND. There seem to be a lot of people here who for some reason think that emuNAND = CFW. This is completely wrong.EmuNAND9 isn't a cfw?

To OP: You don't need redNAND. If you have a N3DS, you could save a good amount of space you use to dump but it's not necessary.
ikr, some people don't get that emunand isn't a cfwTo clarify a little further: an emuNAND is a clone of your sysNAND but installed on an SD-card. A CFW can boot into emuNAND or sysNAND depending on your choice.
