Hi, I'm considering on buying a larger sized sd card for my 3ds. Problem is I don't know if the 3ds would support it. I'm currently thinking of buying a 64 gb sd card.

I have a 128 GB and a 64 GB mSD. The 128 GB has issues with GBA VC games but that is it. GUI Format can format 64 GB and higher mSD/SD to Fat32 32 kb or 64 kb cluster size.
Thanks for the info! Do I choose 32kb cluster size when formatting a 64gb SD?

Everybody gets told to use the search function when they ask an already asked question, so why are these "Will this SD card work?" or "What is the max size sd card the 3ds uses?" threads exceptions?

Yeah, 64 GB cards work great. The Sandisk Extreme ones work wonders. I've read 128 GB cards can work, too. But the number one rule is, make sure it's REAL. Not a clone or fake. I forgot how to check, but there's tools that can tell you the manufacturer, speed, etc. And to format them as FAT 32, use FAT32 Formatter or Panasonic Formatter. Both can be found via Google. Set allocation cluster size to 64 KB.

Yeah, don't wanna get one of those "256 GB" cards from China that only store 2-4 GB of data (I think they spoof the size so it even reads 256 GB).

Those are a bad deal, you got to go with the 512GB MicroSDs now, they hold 2x the data of the 256GB ones

Note to gullible people: this card is fake, do not buy

Probably because those assholes who do that don't bother to troll on these threads.
