Hacking Installed OFW 3.55 easily, now any CFW wont install

Hey all. I having a little troubling installing a CFW from 3.55 OFW. I was at 3.15 and upgraded to 3.55 OFW and now am trying to get the latest rebug and cannot for the life of me get my playstation to recognize it. I tried reformatting the flash drive and installing from menu and recovery. Anything else I should try? Also, I am a casual gamer and would like to use some casual mods and such online, is rebug REX the CFW for me?

Did you rename the Rebug file to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put it in PS3/UPDATE on your flash drive?

Yes, I kept thinking that I HAD to be making a spelling error or something and I literally checked it about half a dozen times.

I'm not sure if I try this at first or not but tonight I'm going to try and install Kmeaw 3.55 and see if I can get that on before I go to rebug.

Okay so I got kmeaw3.55 to read but it has errored twice with this message:

Scratch that! Was messing with my blue ray drive and it must have needed to be plugged in.

So I was able to get kmeaw 3.55 to load onto my PlayStation but I am still running into the issue of the latest rebug not being recognized.

Sorry for all the chaotic updates. Kmeaw seems to have installed on my playstation but when I go to system settings and view system info it only says version 3.55, nothing about kmeaw. Is it supposed to say something else? Also, /app_home/ps3_game/ is giving an error saying (an error occurred during the start operation 80028F14).

Yes it's supposed to say 3.55 unless you spoofed the version or upgraded. My ps3 also gives the error when clicking that folder so im guessing its normal. If your trying to get backups running, get multiman or enable webman.

Download the latest Rebug and place it in your update forlder. Install Condor Updater or just go to the Recovery Mode to install the update. I had trouble installing it aswell.

What is condor updater? Recovery mode is when you hold down power button and go to system update right? I've tryied to do that and it wont read the update. It is saved in PS3/UPDATE/PS#UPDAT.PUP just like the other two files.

Yes that is recovery mode. My update wouldnt read either and that worked for me.

I have, still wont recognize it. I'm considering trying Rogero but can't find their website, seems like it was taken down?

SOLVED.

Solution: Don't be a moron.

I was unaware that the PUP file link was inside of the text file that is downloaded off of the rebug website. I was trying to change the txt file into the PUP file
