I used @AuroraWright A9LH updater and something went wrong I guess.
I know stage1 installed correctly because my new3ds powers off without the sd card in. But arm9loaderhax.bin on the sd card isn't launched on boot so stage2 is prob messed up.
:( What do I do?

The fact that it powers off without the SD card inserted means that the hack is probably still working in some capacity and thus you aren't bricked.

I used the installer to update A9LH. Not to install it.

I think what he means by that is did you put your existing cfw files back in place, including the arm9loaderhax.bin for your cfw or boot manager?

I already had A9LH before using the installer to update.
I just used the test .bin for a9lh (where you press a button and it turns off) and it didn't turn off. So arm9loaderhax.bin isn't being launched at all.

My 3ds is still under 12 month warranty with nintendo. Can somebody point me in the right direction? I'd like to get it repaired asap before nintendo patches the current downgrading methods.

Has anyone successfully used their warranty with homebrew, crap, warez, and pirate shit on it? Cuz that's what's on my 3ds.

I don't have any "incriminating" stuff on my sd card (cuz I just backed it up and removed it) but Ninty will be a little confused when they notice Dev tools installed on the Nand... Yes on the Nand. cuz i wanted to.

Send your Nintendo without your SD

- Also, did you tried accessing the recovery mode? Or tried launching decrypt9 (hold l+r button at boot)
"Recovery mode" won't work. The arm9loaderhax.bin never gets executed in the boot.

If recovery doesn't work you might be hard bricked, not really sure with A9LH. You should be able to get a replacement as long as CFW and *hax stuff isn't on the SD. I didn't bother trying to get Nintendo to replace my bricked N3DS because I bought one pretty quickly and didn't really want to wait (and when I called in for a NNID I said dropped the old one and it broke, so I can't really get them to do anything now). Why did you install Devmenu or w/e to NAND? If you mean the actual NAND destination I don't think it would be able to read it anyway.

The devtools are sitting right on my little ctrnand partition.
Actually now that I think of it, most people that bricked their 3ds and had gotten it repaired probably had fbi injected into h&s (their nand).

When you call in say something that could actually happen, like it froze (or died?) during an update. I remember
Even just using *hax voids the warranty because it's technically a modification. CFW stuff also voids the warranty, and is the one you should be worried about, because *hax is easily removable (but with CFW your SysNAND is still 9.2.0-20U>)

Because you altered the system in a way it was not intended. I'm quite sure they have a section on that in the warranty paragraph.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

direct quote: THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IF THIS PRODUCT: (a) IS USED WITH PRODUCTS NOT SOLD OR LICENSED BY NINTENDO

I don't think this is going to stop him from trying to get a replacement. Hasn't there been a few people who have had theirs replaced because of similar hard bricks?
