That doesn't tell us anything. We've seen this play out a dozen times. Whether the story is true or not, the only thing a company in this position can and will do is deny. Then when they do stop production, they offer huge reassurances that they are still committed to the platform, and that the production stoppage doesn't mean they are abandoning the platform because they still have XX titles planned over the next 2 years, and so on... They still have units and software to sell. They'll never admit to winding down until sometime after the NX has shipped, and they don't have anymore Wii U titles in the pipeline.
That doesn't mean the rumor is true, but it does mean you can't take a denial at face value.
