Can someone make a thread on this. This pretty much confirms a kernel being held is useless. Unless there isnt one
There is and this won't matter. The release does'nt really seem to ride on how well the console is or isn't being supported. Until the day it either gets patched, or Nintendo confirms without a doubt they will never again update the Wii U, the known dev's who have an exploit will not be releasing.

Why would ninty update? for two more games? Star fox and Zelda?
Open your eyes peeps its over.
Ninty will probably Sell the last consoles on a discounted price and no more hardware with newer firmware will ever reach the shelves'

There's one right on the main page. But the end of hardware production doesn't mean end of (online) support. So i think the devs should still keep their exploits private until they are patched or Nintendo completely dropped any support on the system

Nintendo already did this and devs know.lol
Maybe Nintendo will release one or 2 firmware update on WIIU, no more than this.
One reason is wait until are patched but i doubt it after NX annoucement.

Nintendo says they are not stopping production,

http://kotaku.com/nintendo-denies-its-ending-wii-u-production-anytime-soo-1766548639

You all got trolled.

That doesn't tell us anything. We've seen this play out a dozen times. Whether the story is true or not, the only thing a company in this position can and will do is deny. Then when they do stop production, they offer huge reassurances that they are still committed to the platform, and that the production stoppage doesn't mean they are abandoning the platform because they still have XX titles planned over the next 2 years, and so on... They still have units and software to sell. They'll never admit to winding down until sometime after the NX has shipped, and they don't have anymore Wii U titles in the pipeline.

That doesn't mean the rumor is true, but it does mean you can't take a denial at face value.

No, I'm pretty sure it means Nintendo is still makin the console longer then the rumour states.

Going of of their sales figures and patterns , then im quite sure nintendo know how many more wiiu's they need to stockpile before giving up on making more , with the knoledge of the NX release in their pocket. Im sure they have quite a few piled up warehoused . This soesnt mean they wont update after the deadline.

As was mentioned by Straximus, Sega denied the rumors about the Dreamcast, I remember not too long ago, THQ denied the rumors it was going under. Of course companies will deny the rumors, or else their stock would plummet even more. Anyone with a brain can see that the Wii U is pretty much dead now.

How did you find that link? Did you have that particular article in mind? Things like this baffle me.

I didn't have that specific article in mind, but remembered the events quite well.

I Googled the words: sega dreamcast production denies

If you have a good idea of the words that should appear in an article you're looking for, and some of them are about a unique event, you can usually find what you're looking for. Leave off words that you can't be sure would appear. I didn't use "stoppage", "stops", or "halts" because there are so many words that could be used to describe that part of the event. And try to anticipate and use words the way they would be phrased in the article. I used "denies" rather than "deny" or "denial" for this reason.

Another tact you can take is to use google's search tools to narrow the window of the search to a certain window of time. For example, if you're looking for impressions about a long-lived game like World of Warcraft from before it's launch, you can specify in the search tools to only offer results from prior to Nov 23, 2004. I didn't have to use that in this case, but it's a useful tool to know about.

I don't know how other people develop their 'Google-Fu', but I think mine came from using lots of very literal pre-Google search engines in the 90s.
