Hello GBATemp forums!

First of all: THANK YOU, GBATemp. I can come here with every problem I have. From emulators to Hacking to Homebrew! Thank you!

Now the real question: I have two Wiis. One of them is hacked, and I'm planning on hacking the other one too. The main reason is because i want to play Gameboy Advances games on both Wiis, and connect them as you'd do with gameboy advances.

I want to do this using VBA GX emulator on them. I reckon it's possiblr, because Nintendo released a legit gba emuator for the GCN.

So. Here my plan is in short:
1. Connect GCN controllers on the Wiis;
2. Run VBA GX on both Wiis;
3. Connect the Wiis using GBA link cables

Will this work?

This is also for playing The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker on one Wii, and connecting the other Wii as GBA for the Tingle Tuner. I've seen this work on GCN, so why wouldn't it work on Wiis, as they are GCNs if you want them to be?

Here is a scematic of how it works on GCN:

GBA Player is the legit GBA emulator for GCNs.

There is no way to do that currently.
It would require some heavy modification on the source code of VBAGX to be able to do such wonder.

And you can't make a Wii-to-Wii connection with a GBA link cable.
The Wii doesn't have a port or entrance for it.

Sadly, there is no other way to do a GC to GBA connection without an actual GBA and the GBA-GC cable.

Replacing the GC-to-GBA Link Cable with a GBA-to-GBA Link Cable, because that's the only way Wii's can connect like this

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Awww... That's too bad. Thanks anyway....

Is there nother way, to do the same without a GBA or other consoles? Like connecting my PC using a USB-GC cable, and then emulating a GBA on my PC???

GBA Player is no legit emulator, because it is not one, for starters. It's a software interface for the Gamecube to interact with the Game Boy Player, which is the real hardware used in a Game Boy Advance encased in a shell, and the one that runs the games, using the Gamecube as a host or pass-trough for it's video and audio capabilities. Being a real Game boy Advance, it allows you to do the unique things the portable version does, like connecting as a second screen or controller. The method pictured is in fact possible since there is no emulation at all.

Wii's GBA emulators do not support GCN-GBA connectivity, nor can't emulate it. It would take an interested and skilled developer to do port it to the Wii's architecture, and from there on emulate that feature through WiFi or ethernet, for example.

The only emulated way you could achieve said feature, as far as i have read, is to use Dolphin and VBA-M.
......
And you think I was going to say that? The easiest way to give it a name is "legit emulator"....

If I'd say the same as you did, more people wouldn't understand it, and it'd make even less sense (yes, it's possible), than it already does.

Anyway, if there's one thing I've learned from softmodding my Wii, it is that everything is possible. Isn't there any way to use a fake GBA on my Wii with only my PC, the Homebrew Channel, my Android smartphone, and the other Wii? Also, I have GCN controllers for the Wii.

Why couldn't it be possible? There are so many hackers out there... why not?
Reasons:
-No one has done it.
-No one has showed interest
-Hackers many, for Wii just few, but interested on this now I've not seen any of them.
-Wii is an old console, so many hackers/modders have lost interest, and I repeat, many not all.
-VBA GX it's "slow" compared to mgba performance.
-VBA emu doesn't have what you want and VBA GX has even less resources for doing what you want.
Now if you go for mgba, endrift -mgba author- has a lot of work and zero help from anyone.

And it other terms, Wii is an "underpowered" device for "what you want" not for emulation.
