can anyone recommend a ds flashcart for use with the 3ds? preferably one that can just be put into a 3ds and start playing(no need for kernel update firmware installation before being used with the 3ds. i don't have a dsi/original ds anymore)

noob question here. how do i update my rxTools 2.6 into rxTools 3.0? o3ds sys9.2 emu10.5

Throw away the old firmware.bin and rxtools.dat, download the new version and extract the rxTools folder to SD, use the Python program "cdn_firm" to download new firmware, and put the files in a "firm" folder inside "rxTools".
You must then change entrypoints as the executable moved from /rxTools.dat to /rxTools/sys/code.bin, so you will use a different url for browserhax, a different profile for MSET, etc

so i finally got myself another oot as a backup entrypoint for emergencies and stuff. before installing oot hax, is it advised to delete all saves or does the installer do that on its own anyways?

It's not affected by other save slots, so if you're installing it from another hacked console there's no problem!

Hi! I have downgraded quite a few 3dses for my friends now, and I was going to do it for another one of them, but he 'accidentally' (ya I know) updated and now he's on 10.5. I got menuhax on there for him, but would it be possible to have menu hax boot ctr, then use an emunand from my 3ds (they're both exactly the same) along with the Nintendo 3ds folder it goes with then format the emunand to make it his own?
He has no games or save data, so nothing could be lost.

I know he wouldn't be able to make a NAND backup, but would booting into emunand still work? It's a N3DS

No, because 1- emunand is still hardware encrypted 2- he won't be able to run it on 10.5 anyway

You can only use you own emunands, so sharing emunand will not work, sorry.

The only way to use cfw on 10.5 is downgrading via hardmod

Depending on what you want to do with your 3ds, you'll need to follow some steps or others.

If you want to run unsigned cias (apps developed by the comunity and pirated games), you'll need to downgrade to 9.2 following some "risky" steps.

If you just want to play region free cartridges (like USA games on a EUR 3ds), custom home menu themes, custom mods of cartridges you already own and dump/modify saves of your games, then you'll need to follow different steps (and quite less risky)

That's what I needed to know. Is there any improvement in normal over Mod version? If Mod has everything, that should give me the final answer.

I cannot say for sure because I don't own a n3ds, but I think the reinand mod has support for the new a9lh exploit and the patched TWL for DSI and DS' flashcards... not sure about the official one

Following your advice, I'm currently trying to downgrade. I've blocked the DNS, and attempted to use the internet browser to navigate to the proper browserhax site, but then I get the message "The Internet browser cannot be used at this time. Please check your network environment or try again later."

I'm already stuck what do do from here?

Probably, you'll need a copy of Cubic ninja (ninjhax) or Ocarina of Time (OotHax) to be able to boot homebrew launcher and install a free entrypoint (menuhax).

If you use OotHax, you'll need a friend with an already hacked 3ds or a powesave to install the hax into the cartridge.

You can also buy a cheap sky3ds (a 3ds flashcard) to run a copy of cubic ninja on .3ds format, but I don't know too much about flashcards.
I think there is no way to get rid of the browser nag on original 3ds to use browserhax, sorry.

Or you can rent a cubic ninja or something... you need to run homebrew launcher just once to install the free entrypoint menuhax

How are you blocking DNS?
