Hacking I done goofed. Can I get my save data back?

Last night I was up late waiting for the Smash update to be uploaded as a CIA. When it FINALLY was, I transferred it via FTP and installed both the patch and the DLC via NASA. After, I started Smash up, but the update wasn't applied. "That's weird," I thought. I went back to the home menu and opened NASA again to uninstall them, but they weren't in the title list. I then went back to the home menu. After a few seconds of being on the home menu, both screens went black and I got "An error has occurred. Please power off etc." on the bottom screen. I rebooted and the same thing happened. I figured the update CIAs must've been messed up or something, so I rebooted again and went into FBI before anything could happen. Then I went into the installed title list. The first few titles were labelled DLC. "Ah, how convenient!" I said. I went ahead and deleted the first two titles on the list. Then I went back into the home menu.

EVERYTHING WAS GONE EXCEPT SYSTEM APPS, FBI (injected into H&S) AND DSIWARE. WELLFUCKMEWITHAWIIMOTE.png

It slowly dawned on me that what I deleted was probably not the Smash update. Also the errors didn't stop.

Since I'm still on 9.2, I could easily delete my emuNAND and make a new one, then reinstall all my lost games via the eShop or as CIAs. However, what I am really concerned about is my save data. My Pokémon Alpha Sapphire save file had 10 years worth of digital monsters in it and over 300 hours of playtime, and I'm pretty fond of the rest of my saves as well. Is there any way to get these back? I have:

A backup of the SD card the day before I set up emuNAND A backup of my NAND the day before I set up emuNAND A backup of my SD card from a few days ago (without an emuNAND backup) My current SD card

Is there anyway to salvage my save data?

Does the emunand boot up at all? If yes, you could try to use a save data manager in cia form and try to see if it is there? And doesnt pokemon save its data in the cia itself? Unless they save it to the 3ds instead for cias

I think I have similar problem since I updated via eshop, yet smash still said 1.13

I usually just hit install on my cia when it asks to install an update? I get an error code after it goes half way and then it goes to 99% the second time and fails and usually the 3rd time it gets that last 1% and installs. Maybe im just lucky with my 3ds?

Emunand boots up, however, FBI can't install CIAs anymore; it says "Install failed! JKSaveManager.cia Could not open file." At this point it looks like I'll need to get rid of this emuNAND and make a new one.

Is there any way to just plug the SD card into my PC, locate the save files, and reinstall them with some homebrew app after I make a new emuNAND?

I backed up my SD card last week but not the emuNAND itself.

I think you can salvage it with your first emunand backup, as you do have an Emunand.bin

As long as you don't format/create a new emunand, you can inject Emunand.bin and restore the SD backup (which, if you played your pokemon game after you installed emunand and have all those generations of pokemon, it should still be within the files.). The only thing that would be missing is the (most likely) the game (which you can just reinstall again)

Since emunand boots can't you use homebrew launcher? (via browser or cubic ninja/oot if you own them)

Hopefully that will work, then you'll use save data manager or svdt and pray that it'll find the installed games so you can backup the saves.

I made a new emunand yesterday (since i want to use only that now) and i forgot to backup the extdata and now my drawings in pokemon art academy are lost (it was just the tutorials). No emunand backup :/

iirc, save files for digital games are in Nintendo 3ds folder, in the nand you made them (emunand in this case)
If you can restore thing, and upload the folder you back up week ago, I think you be fine and lose only a week worth of stuff

tl;dr for knowledgeable but lazy people: lost all eshop games on my emunand but I have a backup of sysnand with them on it, can I use that to create a new emunand and get them back?

why don't you try "updating" your emunand with the same version number software? use sysupdater.
that will fix the system problems you're having in emunand, and possibly give you access to your files again.
and then use savedatafiler or svdt to back up each save. once done, install a fresh emunand

and since your sysnand backup has the eshop games and saves, I think you would be able to restore that with some lost progress (basically any progress since emunand). you could always make a NEW sysnand backup of your current state, try the restore and see if it works... and if it doesn't, revert back to the current state

I wouldn't say you're fucked, your save should still be on your SD card. In your Nintendo 3DS folder, there should be a few folders with weirdo letters and numbers, one of them is your emunand, and you can find your save data in one of those folders.
