Hey guys,
I hacked my Nintendo Wii back when the Homebrew for it was still early development (Before USB loading was a thing and when GC USB loading was assumed impossible). I figured a lot of my cIOS and IOS's were out of date, so I tried to use this app I saw called Pimp My Wii.
I'm not sure what havoc it caused, but now I can't mount my SD card or USB device to install wads or IOS files. My Homebrew channel is now upside down. I can still load apps from my SD card through the HBC. All of my old custom channels still work and a lot of my USB loaded games still work.
There are some games in USB Loader GX that I could never get to work, such as SSBB.
Somewhere earlier down the road, I put DIOS MIOS on my Wii and I read somewhere that installing that will cause your Wii to be unable to read discs, which mine cannot. It's a fairly old system that I've had issues with before hacking (not reading dual-layered discs).

How can I remove DIOS MIOS? What can be done so that I can load wad files and IOS from my SD card? Am I going to have to clear the data off my Wii and start from scratch? How would I go about doing that?

Thanks for any help you guys may have to offer!

Fix it with ModMii.
On GBATemp you generally don't have to reserve spaces for photos, because we have this:
Welcome to GBAtemp!

That easy? Awesome! I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. Thank you.

And I posted something there earlier that was incorrect, figured I'd make the best of the mistake lol.

Just wanna say there is a reason people commonly call it Brick My Wii. It causes no end of trouble for many people. ModMii is the recommended method of softmodding.
DIOS MIOS replaces the default GC functionality which used to mean the console would be unable to read physical GC discs with it installed, but that wouldn't affect Wii games and AFAIK it can read physical GC discs after a certain update anyway. Hopefully you just need to update your softmod to get everything working again.

I got all of it straightened out. My Homebrew channel is now normal and I can install Wads etc.
I've been looking around but finding a lot of old links, but what's the best USB Loader to use? I want to play both GC and Wii games from a single HDD. Any advice?

Generally, your choice of loader only depends on how pretty it looks. Wii games depend on cIOS for booting, and GC games on Nintendont (or DIOS MIOS if you're stuck in the past).
My personal choice is CFG USB Loader, but other than that there's Wiiflow and *shudder* USB Loader GX.

PimpMyWii works just fine. I've modded close to 40 Wiis without any problems. You just need a RELIABLE internet connection is all. It's also far easier since there's no PC needed except to put the app on the SD card. It's very noob friendly, and makes Wii modding easy. If people are bricking their Wiis with it, then they're obviously using it wrong.

the fact that he had tried PimpMyWii which didn't work for him and the fact that now in 2015, he still wants to install Trucha Bug clearly shows that he doesn't know what he is doing. So if PimpMyWii did brick his Wii than he himself is the only one to blame?

so according to @Jayro , you are the only one to blame.
Although that doesn't help improve BrickMyWii's track record and the fact that BrickMyWii had caused alot of troubles.
So my advice is still: stay away from from BrickMyWii unless you are confident with yourself that you know what you/BrickMyWii are doing.

Dios Mios, Nintendon't only support FAT32 partitions (primary and be the first partition of your hdd). Wii iso loading supports FAT32, NTFS, exFat and WBFS etc. Most homebrew support FAT32 only. You can setup one single FAT32 partition for all your Wii's need or multiple partitions with the first being FAT32 for GC iso loading and the rest for whatever you like.

Yeah, I'd avoid Brick My Wii like the plague. As for the general question towards the end, look up "USB Loader GX", "d2x cIOS", and "Nintendont". Have fun.

Whats wrong with USB Loader GX? I haven't used it in at least a year but I remember it being alright for it's made for even if I could never get GC support on the damn thing.

USBloader gx is the most up to date loader that supports all settings for the latest Nintendont builds. No other loader does that.

Although it does has a few glitches to iron out, so does the other loaders and what is more important is that it is the only one still in "active" development.

It is just a personal choice what glitches you can live with and/or be up to date with Nintendont or not.

I tried all 3 when I first got into homebrew and I never understood what people saw in CFG and Wiiflow. They looked ugly and had horrible GUI's.

With USBLoaderGX, everything just worked with no need to mess with plugins, and the settings menu's just made sense.

When you ask 20 users, what the best usb loader is, you'll get 20 different answers :D
USB Loader GX is the most popular one and is still updated. WiiFlow is also really popular (I'd place it right behind USB Loader GX, I use it myself), but it wasn't updated for a year or so. CFG has many settings, I'd place it third, because it's not updated anymore (does it even work with the newest version of Nintendont?)
