Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

Hey guys, what will actually happen to all the software on the 3DS after downgrading ? Will it stay untouched ?

My N3DS XL is on 10.2 now, so from what I understood, the 3DS have to be on 10.3 to downgrade it ?

If yes, can I just run the ironhax installer for 9.2, than update to 10.3 and run the sysUpdate through Cubic Ninja ?

And are there any problems after downgrade to run CFW, rxTools n stuff ?

Those who are struggling to run sysupdate, try to use HomeMenuHax instead of launching it from BrowserHax and others, tried 20 times with BrowserHax and worked on the 1st with HomeMenuHax

I second this, I successfully downgraded my New 3ds xl from 10.1 to 9.2 and it refused to work with Ironhax, but it worked first try with themehax. Thanks!

Where can I get the Sysupdater where NATIVE_FIRM gets installed last? I heard they're far more safer than the one on the OP (which installs NATIVE_FIRM FIRST)

If anyone would like to test something, I have made some modifications to sysUpdater to hopefully make downgrading more stable. UPDATE: This has been tested, with reports of success. Use at your own risk, however, as always with downgrading.

This contains two primary modifications:

• Deletes each title before installing its replacement, rather than deleting every title to downgrade before installing anything. This ensures that there won't be a bunch of missing titles if a downgrade fails.

• When downgrading, installs NATIVE_FIRM after all other titles, rather than before, to ensure that there won't be an older NATIVE_FIRM incompatible with remaining newer titles after a failure.

a certain iso site. there will be a download link on the same line as the 9.2.0 firmwares. it'll say sysUpdater 0.4.2b or something like that

If everything's good, you just have to keep trying. As I said. Just because you did it 2000 times doesn't mean it won't work the 2001st time. It's just an unstable exploit.

Well, i already make the downgrade successfully on mi Old 3ds. The thing is, after i downgraded my 3ds from 9.9 to 9.2 launching the SysUpdater via ironhax, results than i don´t have ironhax more. So, i need install Rxtools but i haven´t an Exploit to launch the Homebrew Channel. So i tried to install BrowserHax and the thing is... sorry guys but i can´t, i check some tutorials and just try and try but nothing. Can someone please help me installing browserHax on my O3DS 9.2 please????

Use menuhax 2.1, more stable. I was using 2.0 when attempting to run Sysupdater and it was constantly freezing. Installed 2.1, and 2 out of 2 attempts were able to run sysupdater with no hiccups.

Go to smealum.github.io/3ds/ and download the ropbin for your system FW then try launching browserhax again make sure the starter pack is on your sd card.

I have to rename the ropbin file?? cause i got a file named post5_u_ etc etc..

I thought the sysupdater posted in the OP was the steveice one, hence everyone referring success because of this thread's tutorial. Is that systupdater you posted, different/better than the one posted here on the OP?

I'm about to help a few friends to downgrade, I want to use the best version for all the 3DS.

I downgraded my n3ds 10.3.0 28U using this. Pretty easy but the suspense was killing me lol

how long did it take you im kinda getting impatient with this Dx and did you use all the files provided on the first post?

I am not exactly sure and I believe they both are the same however I know for sure that the one I quoted is the Steveice one and I am not sure about OP so I used the one I quoted when downgrading and it worked first try.
