Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

DONE! It works for N3DS XL using menuhax and the guide of the 1st page :) i was using fw 10.3.0-28E and now i am 9.2.0-20E. Now i have a question..can you link me a guide the allow me to flash the best CFW?

So i just finished the downgrade but after reboot it was just a black screen and i can't seem to get into recovery mode.
any ideas?
 
Just my final report:

- o3DS XL Mario & Luigi edition on 9.9
- using sysupdater from julian20, the one on page 95
- using the 9.2.0-20U(Full).zip from that iso site

both zips extracted directly with 7-zip to the SD card
Always open FTPBrony first, close with B, then sysupdater

1° try: Ninjhax, black screen on start sysupdater, manual power off
2° try: menuhax, black screen on start sysupdater, manual power off
3° try: Ninjhax, sysupdater menu (Y for downgrade, B for quit) freezes, manual power off after 15 minutes
4° try: menuhax, sysupdater installs all and reboot after 25-30 seconds

Black screen on boot, power off, remove SD card, power on, works!

Delete some extdata folders from Nintendo 3DS folder and works with the SD card

Use this tutorial for emunand and rxtools

Use this tutorial for unlink nands and have my nnid on emunand

right i'm going to do this

i'm formatting SD, how much cluster size should i put? ( i'm using 3DS default SD )
 
This worked great!

o3DS 10.1U -> 9.2U

My only problem now is I cannot for the life of me access the homebrew launcher... my menuhax broke (which was expected) and browserhax just keeps crashing and kicking me back to the menu :wacko:

I have a dumb question but I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

On 9.9, loading the web browser writes to the NAND and blocks the browser from functioning (until you update). Does downgrading with that flag enabled mean I cannot use browserhax on 9.2? And I must upgrade to 10.3 before? Or can I go from 9.9 > 9.2?

I'm getting a message under the three options (Update, downgrade, exit) that says 'Use the HOME button if you run the CIA version, should i do anything about that? Also once i get to this page and press Y it freezes and nothing happens. I also saw a video on this where above the three options there are a list of steps, that also isn't showing up for me.

That version should make it so you are able to always enter recovery. I am surprised it managed to brick its quite perplexing try giving it a day or removing and reinserting your battery. I am sorry for your loss. :sad: Insult to injury, KTM is coming out tomorrow. Hindsight is 20/20 don't beat yourself up about it.
 
ya, oh well it happens just some bad luck.
also does it make a difference i have a N3DS
