Hello. I am having an issue with sysupdater. Maybe im using the wrong version? But when I finally do get the arm11 exploit to run and press "Y" I get an error along the lines that it couldn't open the update folder and suggests to check if you named it updates. I have the correct 9.2 cias copied into a folder called update on the root of my SD. Any tips?

Trying to install US region DLC on a legit US eShop version of Sm4sh.

Install goes well enough, but none of the characters, stages, costumes ever show up.

Kind of stuck and not sure what to do at this point. Any ideas?

Answering my own question here in case anyone else has this issue.

For some reason it didn't like that I was using the 1.1.3 update from the eShop, so I uninstalled it and then updated from a cia file. Reinstalled the DLC cia after that and it worked like a charm.

Meeh! I'm sure once that KTM comes out and the scene gets a bunch more newbies such guides will be available.

I GOT IT! Never thought it would work but... all you have to do is export the savedata AND the secure value (don't need to delete it) of the save you want to backup and then import them both into the cia installed game on your other Emunand. Worked like a charm. Derp.

Steps: (this assumes you only have 0 other save files extracted.

1. Open savedatafiler on the emunand with the games save you want to backup.
2. Go to the titleid of the game (check http://www.3dsdb.com/) and hit R+Y and then accept.
3. Hit Y on the same titleid and then accept.
4. Remove SD and put into computer and copy the "filer" folder to desktop.
5. Insert SD card for the OTHER emunand you want to import the save to.
6. Copy filer folder to root.
7. Insert in 3DS, start it up, and load savedatafiler in emunand.
8. Go to SD tab and there should be 2 options: one labeled "user" and one labeled "secure"
9. I selected and imported "secure" first and then did the "user" (which is the actual save data).
10. Load up cia game and see if it works.

Thanks Ryft! I'll try this out tonight!

I was on 10.3 (n3ds) and I have backed up my saves through the home menu option.

Now I am on 9.2 sys and 9.5 emunand, but what to do with my save files? My games are now on emunand and when I put those old saves in their appropriate titleid folders and restore them through the system options I get an error that save file is corrupted.
What to do?

I'm sorry mate. You changed the nand, so its like its not the same console, you'd of have to have used something like SVDT to keep those. They'll be corrupt forever! I lost my monster hunter 4u data this way, so I feel your pain.

I was afraid it was like that
at least I can delete them now :)

so, my cousin has messed up with my user name from the sysnand and now the DS profile exploit stopped working. The screen freezes and the following error pop up: "an error has occurred. forcing the software to close. the system will now restart." instead of running rxtools. I've already tried putting the user name back (to match the one on the emunand) to no avail. Now the only way to access rxtools is from the browser, and I want the ds exploit back. What can I do? My sysnand is currently on 9.2, and I use rxtools with pasta. Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I've heard about something i can use to trick my N3DS into thinking it's on the latest firmware in gateway mode so that i can access the estore and download updates for games and such, and i was hoping for either a link, or some google terms to find this utility. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just use menuhax with CTRbootmanager instead?

Sorry if these have been asked a million times but I'm new to 3ds hacks. I've got a few questions. I want to downgrade my n3ds from 10.3 to 9.2 and I get how to do that, but:

1. When I install emunand on my New 3ds I can't update it to 10.3 can I? It doesn't support the latest firmware on n3DS right? Why does it on the original 3ds but not New 3ds? Is that likely to change in the future?

2. Can I access the eshop from my emunand even if i'm not on the latest firmware and use it just like I do now with my normal NNID to buy games etc?

3. If nintendo release a new firmware (10.4 or whatever), I'm likely to lose access to the eshop aren't I? Or will homebrew help me access it?

4. What happens to all my digital games that i've bought and save files when I downgrade to 9.2 and install emunand? I won't lose access to them will I? Will my saves continue to work fine, do I have to download my games again or do I have to do something before I downgrade to protect them?

5. Why is it a good idea to unlink sysnand and emunand?

6. If I want to remove all the hacks and go back to the official latest firmware like nothing ever happened. Is that easy to do? Bear in mind I have a lot of eshop purchases tied to my NNID.

7. Is it possible for Nintendo to ban my NNID or console? How do I avoid that?

Thanks!

so , i heard if i log in to NNID or eshop i will lost all installed cia theme and DLC
is that right ?
how to prevent that ?

sorry, I don't even know what is that. I remember using FBI to get it to work in the first place but I forgot how...
It's very good it allows you to boot into cfw automatically or any other homebrew whenever you turn on your console. But first you will need to install menuhax from the homebrew launcher so you can get auto boot setup. Here's a link to get ctrbootmanager set up - https://gbatemp.net/threads/ctrbootmanager-3ds-boot-manager-loader-homemenuhax.398383/
