how do i install coldboot rxtools on my o3ds xl?

Trying to install US region DLC on a legit US eShop version of Sm4sh.

Install goes well enough, but none of the characters, stages, costumes ever show up.

Kind of stuck and not sure what to do at this point. Any ideas?

There no such thing as Legit US Smash. There is EUR version, but not US.
Did you have NNID linked?

What I meant by "legit" is that it's a version that I bought off the eShop.

Remember there a difference between DLC and Patch.
Patch add DLC option do it or add stuff to the game. 1.1.3 is the latest patch for smash which add DLC option for cloud.

DLC is when you pay for it in game. I am not sure if it possible to add DLC to your system even with CFW. I assume with DLC, when paid, add some data to unlock the file in the the patch.

I'm assuming you installed the Patch, and mistake it for the dlc characters.

No, I already have the update installed. I'm trying to install the DLC. Other people have had success installing it, but I'm assuming that they're using a cia installed version of Sm4sh instead of one actually purchased from the eShop.

Oh, only knew of the patch CIA, and didn't know of the DLC too. That why it good to answer question since you understand more yourself.

Hm, I'm curious as to whether this guy ever got it installed successfully. There were at least two other people on that rom site having the same issue as me.

I've tried a couple of different uploads so far and they're all giving me the same issue. :\

I boot onto emuNAND using menuhax+CTRBootManager.
I'm trying to install a paid theme (that I bought) on emuNAND.
After multiple tries, I managed to install the theme on sysNAND with menuhax, but it isn't used on emuNAND.
If I change the theme from emuNAND's HOME menu settings, it breaks menuhax.

I've read the README multiple times, but I still can't manage to do it.

Not really answering your question, but why use a paid theme considering you are doing CFW and piracy already?
Find the theme you want on that ISO site, and then add it using CHMM2? That ISO site should have the official themes.

I bought the theme before even knowing it was possible to downgrade on 10.3.
Moreover, I'm not really interested in piracy.

I'm looking for a simple method to install cias on my 9.2 emuNAND. However I have my emuNAND already unlinked from my sysNAND, and so I can't install Big Red Menu. I tried to use miniPasta and use FBI from there and installing BRM. But miniPasta threw me back to the boot.3dsx. How I would install cias on my emuNAND now?

Also, will I get banned when I use online services when I have installed the games/apps with cias?

EDIT: This is a question I forgot. Should I update my emuNAND? And if yes, what version I should update it to?

I can't answer the first part as I use Gateway and I'm not familiar with CFW, but no, as far as I know you won't get banned for using CIAs, including games in CIA form.

well I did some more digging and apparently I can import saves to other Emunands with savedatafiler if I delete the secure value first? Do I delete it BEFORE I export the save or do I delete it from the save I am exporting TO? Sorry for all the questions!

I'm looking for this info too, i've given up on the .sav I backed up from my 3ds prior to hacking. But im looking to install cfw for friends, but dont want them to lose their data for eshop games. Havent been able to find a guide for backing up/restoring from eshop/cia's using savedatafiler
