I'm trying to load go.gateway-3ds.com but my O3DSXL on 9.2 keeps freezing.
I've also tried using EmuNAND9 with browserhax, but I get a red screen and it thows me back to homebrew launcher.
I've followed 2 guides and a video tutorial just made yesterday, so everything is up to date.

Is the Gateway website down?

Is it relatively easy to setup rxtools on an o3DS 9.2.0?

EDIT: I'm reading that if I use rxtools, I lose DS game compatibility. Is this true? On top of that, I read that CakesFW supports DS games. Is it possible to install DS titles to display and launch directly from the home menu?

You're 100% safe if you use CIAs.

This is probably a dumb question but: Is there a way to dump NDS games and/or dump/restore NDS saves on a 3DS ? I know its not possible in DS mode (due to the shut down when cards are ejected) but is there some kind of 3DS homebrew that will ?

OK, so I tried running CHMM2 inside emuNAND and install a dumped version of the theme...
This also destroys menuhax, however the theme works on emuNAND.

Any other solution?

If it destroys menuhax then your nands are linked.

That depends on which type of 3ds you have. If you have an old3DS, you can safely update to the latest firmware via system settings.

If you have an New3DS, you can only update to emunand 9.5. Any higher and your emunand will brick.

I'm trying to spoof firmware for eshop and updating stuff like mii plaza, but when I try to install the v448 NVER .cia, I get a Install failed error. I've tried FBI in emuNAND and sysNAND, with the same outcome. I came from a downgraded 10.3, so does that mean the NVER is already up to date?
I can't read it whole, but it says something like DESCRIPTION_INVALID_COMBINATION

Use FBI to install BigBlueMenu (can't link it to you here), then use BBM to install those CIAs.

But when I open miiplaza with HANS and FW spoof on, it still says I need a system update. Do I need to install another system component before spoofing?

Have you tried using Freemultipatcher? If you use that with HANS it might work..

I'm sorry, i'm kinda confused about the latest developments in the scene... There are so many tutorials and directions about different haxes that i don't even know where to begin!
I have two o3ds's: one o3ds fw 4.5, one o3dsxl fw 7.1.
I want to install rx tools on both of them. How do i begin?
For instance, taking the 7.1 o3ds xl: Should i start by updating it to 9.2 and then install something? Should i install something and then update to 9.2, or should i leave it as it is?

I have no problem following tutorials, i just don't know which ones should i use for my particular case!

Well that didn't work. With FPM it manages to log-in, but then there's an error. It seems like an improvement over HANS, but not quite yet there. I'll wait until somebody uploads the miiplaza update somewhere or somebody manages to fix FMP.

I bought a 3ds xl second hand, but it had a network id on it. I thought I had whiped it when I system format, I guess not. I loaded up a emunand and all that jazz. How do I get rid of the ID, because I cant update my games. Do I have to format everything and load up all the cias again?

When I go to nnid settings it says, You cannot use this Nintendo network ID on this system. It still has his old nnid on here, im sure he transfered it.

Will I even be able to update my games if i unlink the nnid through the emunand?

I'd say this is the best tutorial for installing RxTools. I don't think you need to update to 9.2, but if you want RxTools autoboot, then you might want to so you can use menuhax.
The Google Docs tutorial linked in that post is the one that I used for my N3DS, and I think it tells pretty much everything that you'll need to do, including if you want to update to 9.2.

Anyway, hello everyone. I also have a problem of my own. I want to watch NicoNico on my RxTools EmuNand 9.1.0J New 3DS, but when I try to start the app I downloaded from the eShop, it just freezes on the 3DS logo.

I'm guessing that it's because of the 9.6+ encryption because Pokémon Picross did the same thing. However, unlike Pokémon Picross, there's no cryptofixed version.

Is there any way I can get NicoNico running? I tried just going to it in the browser, but apparently on the 3DS it only works with the app.

I never had to go to the Gateway site. If you followed the forum post, I'd suggest following the Google Doc it linked instead.

Thanks, I'll try that. Apparently in that doc the rxtools menu is used instead.
Hopefully it works.

I'm looking for this info too, i've given up on the .sav I backed up from my 3ds prior to hacking. But im looking to install cfw for friends, but dont want them to lose their data for eshop games. Havent been able to find a guide for backing up/restoring from eshop/cia's using savedatafiler

If your 3DS is European, you could use Cooking Mama: Bon Appetit! and it would be way safer,
but since your 3DS is probably American, you can either follow this part of the Google Docs guide to update to 9.2 from 7.2, or you could update to 10.3 and downgrade.

If you upgrade to 10.3, you need to find the 9.2 update CIAs from that ISO site (the 9.2.0U zip MD5 hash is 879f437d7c78f09ae565f79f5aa9c421) and extract them to an /updates/ folder on the root of your sd card. Then you download this version of sysupdater and launch it from the Homebrew Launcher (I'd suggest using browserhax and not installing menuhax yet).

Sometimes it doesn't work, so if you get stuck on something before getting to the screen that says

"A" Update
"Y" Downgrade

Then just restart.

However if you do get to that screen, then press Y to downgrade and wait. If you get stuck on the part that says "Rebooting in 10 seconds" after the CIAs install, then wait ten minutes before restarting, just to be safe.
After that, you'll be on 9.2. Go ahead and install menuhax and just follow the rest of the Google Docs guide.

By the way, I don't think anyone's bricked an O3DS using this version of sysupdater, but both ways still carry the risk of a brick, so be careful.
