Hardware Can you use the 3DS/2DS as a head tracking system?

Is it possible to use the 3DS/2DS to track head movements and relay them into a game, for example FSX (Flight Simulator X)?

I do not want to buy a TrackIR5 due to its hefty price tag.

Well, I mean... It has a 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer.

If there isn't one already, it should be possible to make a homebrew that initialises and sends gyro information to a computer on the local network.

EDIT: Speaking too soon, I'm not entirely sure we can use them yet...

So people do not yet have direct access to the gyroscope and accelerometer?

I've done a little digging around, and it appears as though it IS available via libctru.
As for it being available as a Homebrew application right now, I'm not sure, but it is implementable. If nobody chimes in with an application that does it, I might take a crack at it.

Thank you! Sadly I would not have a clue what I am doing. I only have moderate experience with VB.net and a little bit in C#.

I think there's a head tracking demo included in the homebrew starter pack.
