Just tried to downgrade mine again, windows 7 extracted files, MD5 matches, SDFormatted card, homemenuhax, N3DS 10.3 US to 9.2. And another softbrick, that makes 4.

Yup. I have the same issue. Everything in theory should be fine. Checked files, transferred/extracted with windows, home menu hax, US N3DS 10.3 trying to downgrade to the known good 9.2 file from the iso site, and I just keep getting soft bricks. I've gotten like 8 or 9 of them so far.

Let me know if you figure it out.

I think you guys have misconceptions about that program, from what we know it's basically just a noobproof same method of what you're already doing. It shouldn't improve results such as exploit stability and what not, it'll save you from using the wrong files, which a MD5 check can already do.

Could you detail a bit more what you exactly did, step by step? You downgraded a 10.3 MM N3DS US, correct? Did you get to keep your files or did you just clean format the system? Were you getting soft-bricks earlier?

ok i did not format my sistem also forgot to add mine was at 10.1 U only the micro sd but i did a backup and once the format completed i copied all the files back, then i booted through homemenu entry point, tried like 10-15 times to open sysUpdater and in my last try i opened ftpbrony and quickly closed it and opened sysUpdaterand it opened, once it completely downgraded it rebooted by itself, went to a black screen but i pressed the power button and sleep mode worked, so i took the MSD out and deleted from the extdata this exact folder 0000008f and booted it again and it worked, i kept all my files, eshop games, saves etc

So no soft-bricking, not a 10.3 system, and you didn't format your console? Hmm... Do you have ambassador titles, or Four Swords? I'm wondering if those could be causing an issue.

And to confirm, you have the 9.2 US files from the iso site?

Edit: Which sysupdater did you use? The SULib one or the libkhax one?

Did you have a custom theme installed via homemenuhax?

hi, im new here, but i was able to downgrade my n3dsxl 10.3u using thxsh's build of sysupdater. i did have a lot of troule getting past step 8 using ironhax, oothax, cubic ninja, sometimes it would pass but it would just freeze after pressing y but i could hard reset and be ok. i had a better success rate using menuhax. im not sure why but on some forum or another (which i cant recall) i read that you were supposed to run some kind of ftp program like ftbrony and exit, then run sysupdater not sure if that helped but i kept doing that. also i should say that when i used the files from that ISO site i ended up with soft-bricks twice. i kept reading and recalled how justpingo had uploaded that TTP file for KTM so i thought eh what the hell and just extracted the file using 7zip, put that on the update folder on sd root and ran sysupdate. i ended up with 9.2 firmware and didnt lose my games/titles!!

I want to know whether this is worth taking a shot at.
I currently have a n3ds with a lot of eShop content. It's currently "10.3 E",
though i'm Australian so does anyone know if there's any differences in firmware?
I have the legit ambassador games (through system transfers from my first 3ds years ago)
and from previous posts i've scene do having these cause any trouble?
I have installed a CFW on an old 3DS at 9.2 once before so I'd like to think that I know
how to follow instructions and everything. If I were to follow the guides provided is the
brick rate especially high at all?
If I were to downgrade to 9.2, is online playability with games like Smash and Pokemon
still possible?

If anyone is able to provide me with any answers to these questions, thank you.

If it's an (E) then it's an (E) what you are looking for. As you can see here, Australia works as a European country in this case.

There's always a risk, but apparently if your 3ds were to brick, it could be fixed (Use this release for that : https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/page-95#post-5923820)
I downgraded a 3DS a few hours ago without issues, just be sure to doublecheck that you have the correct files.

If you downgrade, you can update your emunand to the latest version and play online without problems.

for rxtools it certainly is. i went ahead and took the risk without a hardmod anyway. if you're thinking of doing it and have eshop content you should back it up on a pc, i did a clean install, backed up my sd and formatted, got the starter kit from smeas page, placed sysupdater in 3ds folder and extracted the ttp file from a link in justpingo's twitter account post, which i then placed in the update folder on the root of the sd. i installed menuhax and then everytime before i ran sysupater i would run ftbrony and exit. it doesnt matter where you get the downgrade files as long as they are the correct ones for your region and as long as they are not corrupted in any way. i took another risk and used 7zip to extract the TTP file with 7zip despite justpingo saying it wouldnt work, and when i downgraded with those cia files i got no soft-bricks and ended up with 9.2 firm

So basically if I understand this correctly once I downgrade to 9.2 on my Sysnand. I boot up my Homebrew *hax 2.5 from my 9.2 sysnand and install a cfw to my Emunand that will be running 10.3 or higher.

So in a nutshell if I ever booted up my Sysnand I'd be on 9.2 but through my Emunand and CFW I'm on 10.3.
Are the two nands linked by default and I must unlink them or is that something I don't have to worry about?

How does FBI know where to install .cia??
