Ahh, so that's why my cheats weren't working, they were for EU O3DS rather than EU N3DS.
I'll have to update my cheats list, but also have to try the 8-bit searching anyway.
Thanks guys.

For EU players:
Here is a Gateway cheat to make everything easier.

Get at least 1 free play.
Than when you are in the real catcher, activate the cheat.
(this is an instant code. No activation buttons needed) :yay3ds:

[(real) +99 plays]
D3000000 32000000
2086BECC 000000FF
214A6A40 00000099
Hm.. it does not load the cheats. What did I do wrong?

I'm using a O3DS, put your code in a text file and copied it on the SD card.

Did you put the cheats in a text file named 0004000000153600.txt, in a Cheats folder on the Gateway microSD card?
They don't go on the 3DS's microSD card.

I did the 8-bit search when playing on my EU N3DS, and these were the codes I was able to produce, working on my system.

[EU N3DS - Always have 5 practice turns]
D3000000 30000000
26825FDC 00000005
[EU N3DS - Always have 5 real turns]
D3000000 30000000
2646BECC 00000005

It seems like the offset address seems to change for people all the time?
Maybe there's no common cheats possible for this game, depending on how the Nintendo Badge Arcade was installed or launched?

I'll have to see if these codes still work on my system tomorrow, or if I need to do the 8-bit searching all over again.
In any case I was able to use this to enjoy unlimited practice and real plays, until I switched off the codes I searched and wrote to my cheats list.
It may've taken over 130 plays to actually grab every available badge though. Remembering that 5 paid plays is £0.90, that would've come to £117. Screw that.

offsets are the same for people i think.
but the n3ds memory region the values are in do not exist on o3ds and the game will freeze.
no need to freeze to 5 turns, because you can't stop the game until you disable the code.
nice to set to a high number, then set to 0 or 1 when you want to stop. 1 is technically better i guess. i think the value is 32bit, not 8bit, but not very important.
but faster (i think) to search for 32bit values because there are less of them.
the offset between practice and real, is the same, at least for jpn, from o3ds and n3ds. so i calculated the address before finding it. i tested the code and it works :)

my codes for jpn:
best and easiest badge codes i think

it works in training and real plays.
play the training until you 'win' 10 badges, then you get 1 free real try no matter what.
stop the game with L+R+DOWN when you are bored.

I've tested this and it's working great on my US o3DS, however i'm curious as to if anyone has any concerns about being banned over this? the Badge Arcade, like most micro-transaction games, uploads a log of all activity back to Nintendo after each play session, and surely they are going to notice the odd activity at some point.

Yup, definitely possible... I guess it depends on how many people will start cheating.

do you know what information they log or are you just assuming?
i guess the log stuff to a degree, but think about it, nintendo could be very strict like sony/ms.
most people here have illegitimate content/tickets on their system, that should flag something for nintendo to ban. (it might not, but they should implement that, why not?)

The level of detail is unknown, but it's certain that they are getting information back, that's why you have to have internet on while playing (if your internet goes down while using the plays you got, you cannot collect any badges you picked up until you get back online).

You can't compare Badge Arcade to Mii Plaza, Mii Plaza is a fairly standard non-micro-transaction game, with one-off purchasable DLC (the other minigames). Badge Arcade is a typical micro-transaction based game where you pay for each play. This distinction matters because once you've bought the Mii Plaza DLC, Nintendo couldn't care less if you earn the tickets legitimately or not, it's no different than cheating on any other game. in Badge Arcade cheating means they lose potential revenue as you no longer have a motivation to buy plays. Every other mobile micro-transaction game out there aggressively bans players that cheat, I'll be surprised if Badge Arcade breaks the trend, but i'm not counting on it. At this point i'm just hoping the ban, which i believe will eventually come, will be badge arcade-only and not "all online play".

My apologies, i misread that part.

Still, my point about the general trend in micro-transaction games still stands. It would be nice if Nintendo did different than everyone else, but i doubt it
