As far as I know it doesn't (yet?).

And those CIAs shouldn't be of any trouble.

It's a bit confusing right now. There's a lot of people talking and they used different versions of the sysupdater.

Thanks for your input about the CIAs and your work :D

You are still working on KTM, right?

You don't have to wait for KTM if you know what you're doing (verifying checksums yourself, not failing to choose your pack, etc.)

At this point, KTM won't be more stable. It will just be safe in case you're not. It will also try to fix the kind of mistakes that can happen with sysUpdater, but not a lot really.
And that's why I want to wait, because I don't know what I'm doing and I could install the wrong thing.

Like @JustPingo said, if you check the checksum of your downgrade pack, and follow the procedure "au pied de la lettre", you should not have problems. Using a class 10 SD card should also help imo because of faster reading/writing speed. I did it on my 9.9 O3DS XL and it worked after 5 tries to launch sysUpdater. I also already used sysUpdater (the original .cia one) on my 2DS's emuNAND.

tl;dr : don't mess up and use the good files and it should be working.

But I've read that people who follow everything perfectly still end up with a brick somehow, I guess because sysUpdater isn't stable yet.

The thing is that even when people follow the instructions from A to Z gets black screens softbricks (according to this strawpoll http://strawpoll.me/6448964 fbi is not causing the problems)... It's more like "try your luck" rather than "follow the procedure"

Out of curiosity, will it be possible to run different region games on a US o3DS if we downgrade with KTM? Or at least can we use the established methods of breaking region locks like with that ninja game?

If your that impatient to play free games on 3DS, you could always install some legit CIA's to kill the time. Atleast that's what I'm doing :D

If you can get homebrew working, region free is one of the easiest things to do. I've seen at least a few people saying they can't get entry-points to work after downgrade, but I figure once the kinks are worked out, you'll have zero problems.

That's about where I'm at too. I'll probably attempt it in a few months after everything is settled.

Also once KTM is out, and we can downgrade to 9.2 safely, do you need anything else in order to install CFW on N3DS? Because my brother is gonna buy a 3DS soon, and if he needs Cubic Ninja or something he's just gonna buy an O3DS.

No, browserhax will be enough.

The downgrade is as stable as it can be right now (more or less), as long as you have the right cia files for your version, there isn't a huge risk (but there is still a small risk), people out there can provide checksums for you, and you can extract the ttp file and use the cia's from that.
