I've been using a Gateway for quite some time now on a 4.5.0-8E 3DS, and my emuNAND is on 10.1.0-27E.
But I'd like to switch to rxTools and its rxMode because it corresponds better to what I'm doing with my 3DS (play retail games often and occasionally do weird stuff, not pirating all day and occasionally do normal stuff).
So I installed it and everything works...

But whenever I launch a cartridge game, I get a "corrupted/invalid/whatever save game".
I guess that's because Gateway produces (and expects) saves with a certain encryption method and rxTools expects (and produces) saves with another method.

So what can I do to get my cartridge saves to work under rxMode ?

Wait, I realize my post wasn't specific enough. I am talking about real retail cartridge savegames.
But even though the link you provided says "no retail support" in its first line, there's something about cartridges at the bottom, so I'll see what it does. Thanks :)

You mean the same cartridges that you were using in GW Classic Mode won't load the save in rxMode?
If so, did you by any chance update your sysNAND?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. And no, I'm still on 4.5 using MSET instead of the more convenient themehax.

edit And savedatafiler says "CTR Card -- broken --" when I launch it (on rxMode) with MH4U in my 3DS :(
edit My New 3DS on 9.0 says the same as my Old 3DS rxMode's emuNAND, invalid savegame. So I guess that rxMode is expecting a newer encryption than the one used by Gateway. But how can I "convert" my savegames then ? Or can I get rxMode to use the old encryption instead ?

edit, one day later
Just in case people are still wondering what I am doing, well I decided I wouldn't care about my savegames. I upgraded my sysNAND now to 9.2 so that everything uses the new encryption, making all my savegames not usable anymore, but at least, every savegame I will produce from now on works everywhere (svdt can get my new MH4U savegame but it couldn't get my old one, I can play MH4U on both my Old 3DS and my New 3DS, etc) so I guess what I lost wasn't so valuable compared to what I got in return.
edit
Lol, my Pokemon X save is back.

I never saw your reply because you didn't quote/tag me in your post :P

Now that GW 3.6 is out, you can do the same process, but in Classic Mode instead, which should work since that's where you originally played the game, right?
I'm not sure if this process works if you launch Classic Mode the same way you used to, but you can switch to Classic Mode on the fly from Gateway Mode, and that leaves signature check patches intact so you can run SaveDataFiler with the retail cart loaded.
So the process should be as follows:
1. Boot Gateway Mode with the cart inserted
2. Eject the Gateway cart and insert your retail cart (with the save you want to export already on it)
3. Nothing happens... Press Select and then D-Pad Up. Under "Mode" pick "Classic Sysnand". Press B twice to exit the menu.
4. Your retail cart should show up.
5. You can now load up SaveDataFiler and export the save.

If it still says CTR Card (broken), try one of the other options under "Mode", that is, Classic 7.x - or Classic 7.x +. If none of that helps and you've since updated your 3DS to a newer firmware you may have to downgrade it back to 4.x temporarily (you can make a NAND backup first and restore it after you're done), but logically the Classic 7.x - option should accomplish the same thing as downgrading.

Ah, sorry about that. Here, I quote you now :P
But I thought you would get an alert due to the automatic "watch thread" being triggered as soon as you reply somewhere. I have that but maybe that's an option that can be disabled...

Thanks for the quick tutorial, I'll try that soon. I hope I don't have to downgrade but if I have to... well I won't, I'll borrow a friend's 3DS that is still on 4.4 whenever I see him lol.

If I ever had that enabled, I must have disabled it as soon as I noticed it was on. It would get annoying pretty quickly with how active some threads are. I think I have it on for threads I create though.

@The Real Jdbye
I just tried what you said and it works !
487 hours of playing on MH4U are back :D
Seems like my backup wasn't the most recent since I recall going over 500, but whatever, 487 is better than 0 ^^
Thanks a lot :)
