Hi

I got my sky3ds today and try it out, unfortunately, it’s not working. I follow all the step on the official website, use the latest temp and the latest diskwriter, try the holding the blue button insert/eject method many time with no luck. I’m using the Samsung 64gb micro sd xc and two other sd cards that I got from my phone. The game I’m trying is legend of zelda ocarina of time, I try downloading the rom from 2 different website and I made sure I have the US region one. The main problem i have is that the game won’t show up on 3ds menu, in fact for some reason the light on the card doesn’t light up at all, even if I insert the card with no micro sd card the light still won’t work. Can someone help me out on this problem because I’m running out of idea.

Thanks

okay, thanks for the help

Hmm I don't think your card is broken… I tried mine just an hour ago and had the same problem, game didn't show up and the button didn't work.
I formatted(using "format" of diskwriter), reinstalled the game and it was done.

Try changing sd card again, and for diskwriter's last version they suggest to use a usb adapter for the sd card. Also, don't import a .sav and try another rom.

But first the light is supposed to work if there is no sd card (I tried), so yeah the card is probably broken.

If you have tried holding the button and inserting/ejecting and random button presses, it could be your SD card. Try a different one and make sure it's formatted in fat32.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.

    That sounds really cool
