FF7 remake being released as a "Multi part series"
This may come as a blow to fans if this means the whole story of VII won't be available immediately. The announcement has yet to be properly clarifled.

just like every other FF game these daysSo in other words, Square has already fucked this whole thing up.
First there's a whole tidal wave of people coming out of the woodwork to defend the battle system, and now they're gonna defend selling you each disc. If it comes out with a reasonable battle system and isn't parted out disc for disc I'll be surprised. Such a shame. Hard to stay hopeful at this point.
Ya know, I'm gonna complain about all the changes, but then I'm going to buy whatever they put out anyway. I'll just be pissed if they remove my chocobo riding.
I'm going to be optimistic here and make a bit of a different guess.
You guys remember the original game being split across three discs. Maybe what they meant was that each disc's equivalent in the remake is the same file-size as a full game. They split the game into multiple parts for the same reason that the original is split into three discs. Yes, they could have made it all one super-massive file, but then you'd be downloading for ages. This way, you can download each part individually, with your single purchase giving access to all three parts.
You may call it stupidly over-optimistic, I'm going to call it the only interpretation that doesn't result in Square-Enix getting burned at the metaphorical stake.

It's been revealed that the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII remake will be released as a "multi part series" with each offering a "unique experience"
