Lucky you! Makes sense if they told you it was old stock.

1. No, that's not normal. I've had mine for almost a year now and the Game Pad is silent while being carried or waved around.

2. Set up TubeHax DNS on your Wii U for Primary DNS. I can't stress this enough. Guide near the top of the OP. I highly so not recommend OpenDNS, but if you want to take that gamble, at least do it on the Secondary DNS slot.

1. Yeah, that's not normal. I got my Wii U from my wife's best friend, and although it was 2 years old, it hasn't made any noise at all. If you don't care about your warranty, you could open it up and remove whatever is moving around in there. I don't know if it uses standard screws or not; I'd have to look when I get home.

2. Diddo. ONLY if you MUST have YouTube access, then TubeHAX is THE way to go. It works for me, as I still don't have my URL blocking up for a secondary buffer.

Fairly certain they're one of the small Phillip's head type screws, but it may be tri-wing

Well, not like it's super important, but I'll reply with the answer when I get home. I'm headed home now, so it should be about 30 minutes.

EDIT: It IS a tri-head... Sorry.

Well I got my Nintendo WIIU and it is on a really archaic firmware 3.1.0 :-)
Is there ANY way of updating to 5.3.2 without actually getting the original game ?
AFAIK, I cannot play WIIU ISOS until I get 5.3.2, right ?

Can anybody help me here? I tried to block updates with openDNS and i have added the links are listed there followed by setting up my DNS numbers. i checked the download box on the WII U and i saw system software was downloading, and it was almost 75% done. I turned off my system and unpluged the power cable. is there anyway i can delete that file was downloading from the system?

ill turn off my router and turn on the system again. and ill setup tubehax, but im not sure if this will stop the update from downloading.

can anyone help plz?

You need to download the bundle in the OP, host it, and select the Remove Update option. TubeHAX should stop the update, because it blocks the site from being accessed.

EDIT: If TubeHAX works, you should be able to safely go to one of the hosted sites as well.

Loadiine is currently only supported on 5.3.2 for the general public, so you must get a physical game disc with FW 5.3.2 on it, make sure your Wii U is offline, and use the disc to update. That is the only way.

As I've been saying for, oh, I don't know... 6 months now, do not use OpenDNS. You are in my thread. You should have read the OP. Did the OP state to use OpenDNS? NO. Use the methods in the OP and this will not happen to you!

Seeing that I think you're now willing to take my advice, do as FoxMcloud5655 said and USE TUBEHAX DNS RIGHT NOW. Then go use the Update Deleter. You can find info about it in the OP that you didn't read. :)

Thanks fiveighteen,

I'll check whether somebody has some of the games from the list to borrow. At least I already ordered Lego Batman, so hacked vWii should be a reality for me. Yay :-)

@Garou, I guess as long as the Game Pad plays fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it. (I may have exaggerated a little when I said "silent" :P I agree with Krak-ON and 2manyGames2play)

In other news:
Everyone go add your Wii U information to the Serial Number Database!
Please only log the firmware that your Wii U came on, not what you're on after updating via internet or game disc. Please do not post if you are not 100% certain, as this could throw off all of the data.

I saw 4 serial number of wii u buddle set, and each one is not opened. Which one is possibly lower than 5.4.0?
1. MK8 Pre-Installed: FW115XXXXXXX
2. MK8 Pre-Installed: FW713XXXXXXX
3. MK8 Pre-Installed: FW412XXXXXXX
4. Super smash bros & splatoon buddle set: FW114XXXXXXX
Why Super smash bros splatoon buddle's firmware is lower than MK8 buddle set? It's pretty odd. I thought lower FW is safer.
Thanks

Out of curiosity, since I've been using OpenDNS on my 3DS and Wii U for nearly a year now, what is wrong with it?

Hmm, the sound mine makes comes from the 'loose' stylus and A/B/X/Y/+/- buttons =P
It's not so much a clicking noise, as it is a slight rattle. Mine has it, and so do my Pro Controllers.

But by no means is it loud.
EDIT: And that's only when I shake them.
that's it. I took off my stylus, hold those buttons and shake it and the noise become quieter
still make a little noise, but nothing to worry about I guess. thanks

If your dynamic IP changes, OpenDNS doesn't change at the same second, thus updating your system. I've heard of some kind of desktop updater or something, but God forbid you don't have your PC on 24/7. TubeHax DNS just simply works 100% of the time. I couldn't tell you how many posts I've read of people being updated from solely relying on OpenDNS.

It's on the underside of the console as well, but yeah can't hurt. I just figured the more digits the better, but you never want to give away all digits.

Done, but you might want an extra field to put the bundle information. because people might want to first look based on what bundle they are gonna purchase

I thought about that, but the serial number doesn't change based upon the bundle (I don't think?). There are a few variables we aren't aware of yet, I guess.

Does each bundle get it's own batch of serial numbers?
Does each region get it's own batch of serial numbers?
Does the basic and deluxe sets get their own batches of serial numbers?

So many unknowns. But until we can narrow it down, I guess more info is better than less. I will add it! Give me about 2 minutes.

Well if that's the only concern, I have a static IP. Makes sense to warn people about it, though. I'm more concerned about how much you can trust a private DNS server. I mean, I'm assuming smea will not willfully alter the tables to unblock the update servers, but accidents could happen on his end too. A 100% safe block doesn't really exist

Oh yeah, you're golden with a static IP. I agree with that, though. We're putting a lot of consoles in his hands lol, but all block options involve risks (unless your router does it properly). EDIT: I guess even then Nintendo could change servers or something.

@Garou, fields added.

So if they add even one new server, every one is screwed except for those who only host locally?
