I need help making a decision. I've been looking around the forums and noticed that there's cfw for 3ds that's <9.2 and sky3ds works on the more recent firmware versions. Would an older firmware with cfw be better then getting a sky3ds with a new console?

With cia saves it won't work, as there's no game to mount. I haven't encountered a cia save being marked as broken personally, so I'm not sure how to fix that.

I'm currently playing Monster Hunter X and it's broken, does the fact that the game is Japanese have anything to do with it? Thanks.

CFW gives you a lot more functionality than a Sky3DS does. The only reason to go for the Sky3DS would be if you want an N3DS instead of an O3DS and cannot find an exploitable N3DS.

It might, but I can't say for sure. You may want to create a topic about the issue. Somebody who knows more about it might be able to help.

Hi,

I have just picked up a new 3DS XL running firmware v8.1.0-19, can I buy a R4I GOLD DELUXE and play 3ds and normal DS games with this? Will it be compatibile as I see a lot of conflicting information with R4I only working on versions 4.1-4.5 and then loads of other pages saying they tested all the way up to version 10.

Please advise?

Thanks in advance!

The R4I Gold Deluxe is long outdated and only works with 4.X firmwares. You're much better off setting up CFW on your 3DS to run 3DS games and getting a cheap DS flashcart for DS games.

What is the best firmware for homebrew? 9.2? How do i update to that version? And what is the cheaper way to play 3ds games? I was thinking to get the dstwo+ to play gba gbc and snes but you can still do that with homebrew right? Or is to slow? Thanks

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to update a N3DS Emnunand to 9.5? Thanks

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Have some chance to downgrade 10.3 3DSXL or 9.9 O3DS

I believe the only way to do that is to already have a backup nand of an older firmware version and then do a hardware mod on it to reprogram it.

HELP.

Installing rxTools. Stuck at 3. Get "slot0x25KeyX.bin"

Googling, youtubing, just stuck :(

I had problems finding at first too, since it's copyrighted and illegal to distribute hardly anyone here will give it to you, there is a famous iso site that has it, try looking there.

No, there is no way to downgrade them other than having a backup made when they where on 9.2 or lower.

1)Install sysupdater.cia using BBM or whatever you use in emunand.
2)Get the update pack from that iso website and place the updates folder at the root of your SD card.
3)Run sysupdater in emunamd.

Gonna buy a 4.5E O3DS blue. Anyway to get cfw on this beauty?

1) 9.2 is the best one.
2) Follow a tutorial.
3) rxTools and it's free, follow the tutorial from above.
4) You can play GB/GBC/GBA/SNES at full speed with a CFW, you only need a cheap $10 flashcartfor DS games.

What is the fastest CIA installer to use? I use BBM and it seems lagy and slow to install with several pauses during installation. My SD is a class 10 Sandisk 200gb SD, and it installs fine just really slow to me.

Installing cias is going to be fairly slow no matter what. A different cia manager will likely not make any significant difference, if one at all.
