I just received my EZ Flash IV (the newer microSD version) and I followed the instructions here (http://ez-flash-iv-review.over-blog...s-guide-on-how-to-set-up-the-ez-flash-iv.html) on how to set it up. I'm using a GBA SP and a 16 GB Sony microSD SDHC card.

Everything went fine going through the instructions. I put the ezfla_up.bin file on the root of the SD card, put the card in the EZ Flash, turned on the GBA holding the R button and it found the .bin file and updated without problem. Then I put the SD card back in the computer and opened the EZ Client (ver. 1.03, found here: http://www.ezflash.cn/software.htm#ez4). I sent the ROMs to the SD card (they went straight into the root folder), and I got the message that the send went OK.

Then I put it the card in the EZ Flash, put that in the GBA and turned it on and after the Game Boy startup screen I just got a blank black screen, no EZ Flash menu.

Can anyone help me with what's going on? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Is the microSD formatted as FAT/FAT16 or FAT32?

If not you might want to try rewriting the kernel or going to a slightly older one.

Thanks for the response. It's formatted FAT32 - I'm on Windows 7 and when I go to format the SD card, I only have the option of NTSC, FAT32, or exFAT, no FAT16 option. Does it need to be FAT16 or is FAT32 OK? If it needs to be FAT16, do I have to download a special program to format it?

By rewriting the kernel, do you mean re-doing the ezfla_up.bin file update process? I just re-did that and it didn't do anything. Could you direct me to where I'd find older versions? I used the one that was included in the EZ Client ver. 1.03 zip file.
