Is anyone working on this or is it not possible with 2.5 hax.

Sorry if this has already been asked and for the misleading title (was an accident), the new hax has me hyped

I'm pretty sure what is stopping us from making custom characters is that we don't have a tool to repack an unpacked dt file which contains smash's assets.

Not to mention that every time I have tried to run ssb3ds in HANS, it crashes on character load screen (at least for some things). I also don't know if the fact that one thing i realized is that you aren't allowed to enter the home menu with the character select screen up in some cases. Yet, that's just a speculation of mine.

Nintendo must of thought that people would try to get dlc maps, characters, etc for free so they blocked any unwanted content from being loaded.

Yeah, the issue atm is that you can't repack dt.

You can just play Home Run Contest to test hacks until that issue is sorted out. Yes, HRC wont crash on CSS. Smash Run crashes on CSS, Multi Man crashes while loading the match post-CSS, normal Smash matches wont work (as you know), Custom -> Characters crashes on CSS, Custom -> Miis is fine. At the moment, then, there's no way to test customs at all.

Unless of course you use layeredfs or a rebuilt rom...
rebuilding the rom after editing the dt would require the romfs, which would require the rebuilt dt, the same for layeredfs if i had to guess? not sure I 100% understand how the hell either of those work, but explain it to me if you can. ELI5.

I just meant the not being able to test due to freezes as I have had no freezes with custom files on layeredfs. And a few posts above you someone states that there is a repacker in the works and there is progress being made in another thread so we should be able to find out for ourselves soon.

Define layeredfs for me. Does it have to do with how HANS works, is it something seperate..

Just to clarify it doesn't help with editing any files within dt right now as there is still no way to repack it, but I was just letting you know that with replaced music at least there are no freezes and everything works fine for smash using that. But until some brave intelligent soul figures out how to repack the file we can do nothing but wait.
