Note the range of targeted firmware affected by this: 9.9+. 9.9 is also the highest firmware update comes in latest card game (demos of the new games were out when we already had firmware 10). At the time of Ironhax release, not many had both Ironfall game and <9.9 firmware. Many had to update to 9.9 to get Ironfall. So freehax users are pretty much targeted and cornered. Help lord @smealum .

Ok, I've decrypted the update partions on 9.8 and 9.9 games, and I can confirm 9.8 does NOT have the browser update but the 9.9 update DOES.
Another interesting thing is that:
0004003000009402.cia
0004003020009402.cia
are both only 461KB, far smaller than that of a full browser cia, leading me to believe they are just exefs patches (or some type of patch).

They're dummy browsers that simply tell you to update the console, like the old New3DS 8.1.0-0J browser icon.

Would it be possible to set up SmashHax once to get ThemeHax running properly, or no?

Using any other working entry point, you can use the offline themehax installer until it officially works. You just have to install the hax 2.5 payload manually since the offline installer only installs 2.1.

EDIT: So to answer. Yes. You can set up SmashHax to get Themehax working, but like I said, you have to do it manually with the offline installer since that hasn't been updated yet. The tutorial is below.

So if Nintendo is dead and gone some time in the future, and you updated with a 9.9 game, your browser would essentially be bricked. Shitty thing for them to do if true.

I'm now kinda freaked out for this and want to install themehax as a plan B in case something happens to IronHax, is it possible to install themehax now that I have my N3DS browser blocked? I just checked

You have Ironhax so you can use that to install it.

Wow, Nintendo is getting crafty with their updates, maybe they'll include a stealth way to update our themes next, so they can kill Themehax, :/.

Use HBL to install offline themehax, then download ropbin 2.5 and renamed after the ropbin generated by themehax. Replace the old ropbin with the new 2.4 ropbin. Back up your SD card. Save it on PC and cloud.
