Hacking Have 3ds xl with 4.2 firmware, issue with installing rxtool, black screen.

ok, I have 3ds xl with 4.2 firmware and a gateway and a blue card. I tried to installrxtool with no success so I decide to wipe the 3ds xl and the sd card and start over and I did the following:

Reinstalled gateway and emunand.

install the mset 4.0 boot from blue card

put the following on the root of my sd card

RXtool folder
Firmware.bin
slot0x25KeyX.bin

And then I went to profile and ds mode and press L

got into rx menu but when I try to boot into emunand, the screen just turn back.

Did you actually format emunand yet... Thats a pretty essential step in trying to enter emunand..

i did format emunand when i was in gatway. I am following this :

If you have a DS flashcard that works on your 3DS, open the MSET folder in the rxtools download and put the .nds file (rxinstaller.nds) on your DS flashcard's SD card. Now run it with your DS flashcard and select "rxtools 4.x".

Would using this cause issue?

Got the same problem with rx tools with no known fix and nobody knows what causes it so i'm using reinand now wich is working perfectly but whenever i try to use Rx tools ( tried multiple builds) i get a black screen. My advise to you would be using another CFW and see if that works instead of RX-tools.

I'm not sure I understand what your issue is. Are you making sure to follow the tutorial for installing rxtools dependent on the method you are using?

Mind taking a picture of where you are lost?

You probably have the wrong slot0x25KeyX or firmware.bin

I had the black screen at first but i change the slot and it fixed my problem

Is it possible it is a 4.2 problem or is it because i install the MSET boot method install of using the webbrower to boot into rxtool?

What firmware did u use? I ma beginnign to wodner if i should upgrade my 4.2 to 9.2 since moast tutorial are base on that

Gateway Downgraded 4.2.0-9U?
rxTools has issues on downgraded 3DSes.
So if you have ever downgraded the console, please restore the SysNAND backup and follow the non-4.x tutorials.

If it's native 4.2, then it has no downgrade issue.
Since you can boot up to rxmenu, the problem must be caused by emuNAND or firmware.bin or Slot0x25keyX.bin.

- If you use rxTools 3.0 nightly builds, firmware.bin should be put on /rxTools/sys.
- Make sure you have deleted your SD card's emuNAND partition before reformatting emuNAND - Use partition tools to achieve that. Otherwise your emuNAND partition will be messed up by increasing 1GB per reformat, which causes your emuNAND unrecognizable.

No, you can't.
Windows formatter sucks because it doesn't restore any of your hidden partition.
Each "format emuNAND" increases your emuNAND hidden partition 1GB.
>1GB emuNAND hidden partition causes black screen.

Panasonic SD formatter has a format option to restore the SD card's whole size.
I forgot what it named though.

I finally decided to download a new nightly build and now it is stuck at installation data suite. In a way it is improvement because when i use anoter 3.0 rxtools it never install the suite
