LarsenV: I dig it! I'll have to whip up something myself.

I dig this homebrew launcher. It seems a lot more versatile than the one included with Smealum's starter pack, even if the water effects tend to be a bit wonky. With the right background, however, I could probably just turn those off entirely.

Put your folders here. all but the 3ds folder
SD:/gridlauncher/folders/
You can also remove the extension they used to require to show up.

Additional folders now go in \gridlauncher\folders without the .hbolder extension.
EDIT: Ninja'd. :ninja:

Following this, source code will be released as soon as I figure out how to upload it to GitHub.
Has the source been released yet? I wonder if it would be possible for us to tinker with the code a bit (perhaps get BGM going, because I would actually use homemenuhax if I could get completely custom themes...). I'm quite sure someone could help you with getting your source on GitHub (including me) if you still need it. Maybe I just missed the post with the source code .

Nope not yet ( i don't think ).
As for homemenuhax/themehax, you can already have custom themes with it, it's just a pain in the butt to do. lol

Huh, last time I checked only BGM or something like that worked... Id' probably go crazy converting all of my themes anyway . People other then me would like to eyeball the source too, right (or am I just going crazy).

Nope bgm and graphics work now, it's still a pain in the ass though.
I got it to work like once then tried again with a different theme and it just booted to a black screen. haha not fun...

Users having issues with lag, stability and inability to launch homebrew with the current beta should disable background title loading in the settings.

As previously stated, source will be released when I have implemented all of the features I want to add myself.

Ahhh, must have missed that part, sorry! You could always push the source as a beta and keep updating it as you go so others could contribute, but keep on doing what you do because I love this menu!

I'll just nope right out of that then.

I know this is going to sound selfish, but as much as I appreciate the offers of help I want the chance to finish what I started before others contribute. I have put hundreds and hundreds of hours into this project so far and have added thousands of lines of code and created lots of graphics, and I want to see through to the end the parts that I am working on before releasing the code for others to contribute.

I do completely understand why other people want to contribute to speed development along, and I'm sorry if I'm being selfish, but I hope that people will understand that I want to finish the parts I want to work on before releasing the source code.

There aren't actually that many things left to do on my pre-1.0 todo list, so source code should be out soon.

@mashers Another minor tweak, you can't assume that any homebrew app which involves selecting titles is for managing saves. As such, the header shouldn't say "Select Title to Manage Saves" when in the target selection menu. Perhaps some more neutral language like "Select Title to Launch Under", maybe?

How do I make the title launcher ignore certain things?

Like it loads the SD management but I don't want it to show that, as well as several other system titles. How can I make it hide them?

It says "select title to manage saves" if you choose SVDT or Save Manager, but the title launcher says "Select title to launch". Are there some other apps which show the title launcher but aren't for managing saves? If so then you're right and this heading needs to be more generic.

Launch the title once and let it crash. Then open bootlog.txt from the root of your SD card. Copy the title ID and paste it into /gridlauncher/ignoredtitles.txt making sure it is separated from the list by a comma and no spaces.
