Hey guys, i don't often post and ask for help, but figured one of the regulars may know the answer to this one

I played for a long time a EU rom of NSMB2 and completed it with all the extra hidden parts etc... I am slowly coming around to the idea of moving away from roms on the GW and going for a slightly larger internal card and installing cia files instead

I have installed the legit cia of NSMB2 Special Edition to my sysNAND using the GW sysNAND option and all seems fine

I was wanting to know is it possible to take my NSMB2 rom save (not the Special Edition version) and use it with the legit cia installed version in my sysNAND ???

I am not entirely sure what the actual differences in the 2 games are, it took me a long time to finish the game in the first place so i don't want to have to do it all over again, which would actually be the 3rd time

I hope my post makes sense, just to clarify my setup... I have a N3DS on 9.0.0-2-E sysNAND and GW emuNAND 9.5 - I have been using roms via the GW red card in emuNAND but now have some legit cia in sysNAND

Thank you in advance, Peter

They have the same title id, so it should work.

thank you for that :)

I will go have a read of that thread and see if i can manage to convert the .sav to a cia compatible save

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Slightly confused now, the guide says i need to have CTR installed and use their plugin, something i am not really wanting to do

To simplify things, i have the .sav file on my pc now for NSMB2 and i want to convert it to work with NSMB2SE cia which is installed as a legit cia in sysNAND

Can this be done with a tool on my pc ? where on the internal card would i need to drop the converted save file

Sorry if you feel i am trying to avoid the guide, but i am finding it hard to follow

For anyone interested, after successfully converting the .sav to be used with the .cia version of the game it turns out that the save was not compatible with the Special Edition of NSMB2 but works fine with the standard version of NSMB2

Just hope this helps someone else in the future
