even if it did, tyrquake's network code was stripped from the core and it would need a bespoke server based on the core modified code since the iteration model is different from the standalone tyrquake.
not sure about prboom but I think the iteration model has changed too.. even if it didn't we don't have a way to enter settings such as server IP address or anything like that so even if it worked it would be unusable.

As RetroArch's builtin rollback based netplay is quite resource intensive so it's not likely to work well on the 3ds.
Damn, I was half-expecting something like that to be the case. Welp, hopefully somebody else ports multiplayer enabled versions.

Still looking forward to the retroarch cores for singleplayer, but the lack of multiplayer is a bummer.

It'd be better off honestly as a standalone port if Retroarch is the bottleneck here... but I can imagine why they'd want to keep in libretro with it's ease of use. Either or.

Edit 1(0000): NXEngine is actually smoother than the PSP port of Douketsu...
Though the sound seems to peak, making the Get Major Item jingle lose a sound channel to the volume peaking.
Edit 2(00000): Nope, global. Just more glaring on Douketsu, and a bit on twangy Genesis games.

I've been trying to get CPS1 games to work on a N3DS with the latest firmware and Ironhax 2.1 installed. No matter what I try I keep getting a "failed to load content" error, I've tried multiple known good rom dumps. I'm sure I'm being thick, just can't figure out what I am doing wrong - using the latest build of Retroarch. Super Nintendo emulation is working great as is Genesis.

You need either PSP NGEMU compatible ROM dumps or (More preferably) the latest FinalBurnAlpha romset.

Ah, thanks a lot. Strangely after posting this I tried it again and this time they are all working fine! What an amazing achievement these emulators are :)

Hi, OG3ds owner herem therefore QuickNes is the one game in town, not complaining...

How do I remap NES A to 3ds B and NES B to 3ds Y before rom load?

I can remap controls intuitively after rom load but the sound gets garbled afterwards, before rom load, i can´t understand the bindings from the main menu for the life of me.

As we´re talking about it, which other core, if any, runs at fullspeed with the OG 3ds?

Thank you

Just restart retroarch. It should save your controls.

As for the cores bit:

QuickNES, CatSFC (Non-plus), MednafenPCE, NXEngine, and Genesis Plus GX(?) (PicoDrive COULD be the more desired choice here... if it worked a damn at all...) are your optimal choices on O3DS. Not all of them are fullspeed, mind you (To appease Osaka here), but are the closest you'll get without shelling out the cash for an N3DS.

Don't forget Gambatte, apparently it runs at full speed in most games on the old 3DS.

I opened a pull request on Github to add the gsp::Lcd backlight commands to ctrulib, and @smealum said that you can get access to it without kernel mode via ninjhax 2.0, so it should work even for those of you above 9.2, if and when it's added.
Great news!

I was able to have controls saved, for the session, by changing it, unloading content and loading contant, the sound was OK, by restarting content, the sound got garbled regardless

Do you have the latest nightly? That shouldn't be an issue anymore as of... Build Date 9/27/15 I believe.
