Rule #1 in life: Don't take everything you see in youtube as true.... though it's probably true in this case I suppose  Even so:

Just dont use these emulators. Wiimednafen is the bet for turbografx and her japanese version, and specially to run Pcengine cd games.
nuff said... It's also a core in Retroarch Wii - either one will do...

You'll only need syscard3 by the way, and even then it's only needed for the CD games.

From my experience, I'd definitely say that Wiimednafen is the way to go, along with system card 3.
I can't say much about retroarch, as I haven't tried the Wii port, but judging from the other versions, it's probably fine too.

I've played quite a bit with the Retroarch Turbografx/PC-Engine core (it was the Version 1.0.0.2) and works really well, anything I tried worked well, PC-Engine, Turbografx, and even CD based games.

Only thing is you need to get a good dump so you don't get the black screen issue.

does this mean nobody knows how they work? lol i tested with splatterhouse U from a goodpce set, i don't know where syscard needs to be for retroarch or wiimednafen because they also gave black screen, i was hoping to get a dedicated emulator working instead of one of the multiple machine things, i've used retroarch a little which can be a little buggy if you play old mame games like shinobi

What does Mame have to do with Turbografx?

If you just want to use Retroarch for the Turbografx/PC-Engine games, there is not much problem because the last core/emulator you use is the one that will load when you enter the application again.

Anyway , the Syscard files go in Retroarch/System folder.

The performance of Core Y has NOTHING to do with the performance of core X. If a mame game doesn't work properly, that means absolutely nothing to the Nestopia core. Or the Snex9x Next core. Or the VBA Next core. Each thing is it's own program bundled in another that let's you choose what emulator you want.

It's great that you got the other standalone emulators, though, even if Mednafen_PCE/Fast seems to be the better option overall.

I spent a lot of time myself getting these emulators working and yes mine work after a lot of time. Your best bet now that you have spent a ton of time on this, is to go to darkumbra dot net and just download the already setup packs mastershoes has already made. They work...and yes the Wiimednafen is a much better emulator for these if you want to start from scratch on your own. mastershoes also has some great channel forwarders for them as well.
