princess emily how did you make it work?
Umm you already have the Homebrew right?

If you have, just choose the last "save_manager" folder to so that when you open it, the files will be there and not another "save_manager" folder... then copy it to the "3DS" folder.

i copied save manager.3dsx into my 3ds folder. then i load tubehax. after i click save manager and something could not load save data

this is my error
get fs:user handle:0x0
fsuer_initialize:0x0
open archive:0xC920454F
could not access the savedata archive press x to exit

That's exactly the same as the error it's giving me... on both my o3ds on 9.9.0-26E emunand (via cubic ninja) and my n3dsxl on 9.9.0-26E sysnand (via Ironhax).

Used save_manager with ACNL and got 5 files back.

exhibition.dat
friend1.dat
friend2.dat
friend3.dat
garden.dat

any ideas what those are all for?

Some games can have multiple files. When I backed up cubic ninja I got like five or six folders with files in each.

Did some research and it appears that:

exhibition.dat (streetpass info)
friend1.dat (character save file, inventory, mail etc)
friend2.dat (other characters)
friend3.dat (other characters)
garden.dat (main town save file, houses etc)

now the question is, how do i edit these files?

also, if i run save_manager on a different N3DS on 9.0 could i import this save without any problems?

Answer to your first question:
I only know of an editor for garden.dat. It's the same one as the ram editor, but because it just updated to support garden.dat, you can now use it. http://usuaris.tinet.cat/mark/acnl_editor/

Your 2nd question: Probably. I don't see how it could go wrong.

Does save_manager require ninjhax 2.0? If so i wouldnt be able to run it on 9.0 would i?

You should be able to transfer the save using save_manager if you can run tubehax or the other hax's. Just backup the Sky3ds then restore to the eshop version. I assume it would be best to already have a save on the eShop to overwrite instead of just trying to create it from scratch.

The homebrew, all credit goes to profi200 on IRC I was just at the right place at the right time to see the release.

hey, when i open the save manager and try to "select a target" it shows a message saying "Could not access the savedata archive! Press X to exit" Help?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Yes, just a basic one that even the developer specified people should stop using as soon as TDVS is released.

I have tested the backup and verified the save was good externally, but never bothered restoring anything.
When i use the save manager i get a message saying "Could not access the savedata archive" help?

I think people are fixing that by getting the newest homebrew launcher boy file.

It wouldn't work, because Sky3ds template uses a public header by default and the saves are tied to headers.

9.2 or lower system = SaveDataFiler
Above, might be possible with a PowerSaves Adapter, but idk for sure.
How does it matter what header it's using? It's still a valid header, the Save Data Transfer Tool should accept it just fine.
