Hardware Front Panel - Headphone Port Problem

The front panel headphone port of my pc case doesn't work properly.
I have to adjust my earphone jack turning it 360 degrees to get it working.
The port works, but it just doesn't let my earphones receive sound to both the left and right speakers. So I have to adjust the jack a bit till both sides work, which is a really notorious job.

The earphones work elsewhere fine with no problems. So it has to be the front panel problem. The back panel motherboard port works fine, I could use it but the wire is too short.
I tried messing with the wire that goes from the front panel to the mobo but that doesn't fix things.
Any solutions?

This often happens because of dirt that gets stuck inside the port. Try getting a pipe cleaning wire or one of those fine dental brushes to clean inside.

It could also be because of a fracture in your headphones cable (very common) but that wouldn't explain why it works flawlessly in the back port.

I cleaned it a bit with tissue, made sure none got stuck inside, but it only fixes the problem a bit (less wire adjusting required).
The insides look rusted, the metal parts. Maybe that's the problem.

That rust might just be dirt, so it's still worth cleaning it out with a pipe cleaning wire, then using a hand vacuum to suck out any loose dirt. But if it is rust, then avoid using that port as it will start to affect your headphone jack.

Bump.
Cleaning didn't work, but I did fix it... by using a toothpick. ;D
I pushed the port to the side and pushed in a toothpick into the space made available by pushing the port, and then broke the upper part of the toothpick; thereby making the port press on one side by the tiny piece of toothpick wood.
This fixed my loose connection issue. xD
