Why won't it be released? You'd need a obj -> BFRES converter, which exists but won't be released. So no, a custom track isn't a possibility yet for the average user.

I tried this via cafiine and updated my 3.0 mk8 to 4.0 and it would not let me go online. I believe the latest version is 4.1 for mario kart 8 .(Someone with it updated can correct me.)
I just tried to update Super Smash Bros. from 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 and yes, the RPX is still the same (but file replacement in other folders works fine) and the game goes weird ( http://i.imgur.com/NCxGnfJ.jpg XD ), do you have any idea on how to replace files in the "code" folder ?The thing is that Cafiine can't replace vol/code. You'd need to load the updated RPX to go online most likely, and also to load any further updates for Smash in case people are curious.
Yep, it's definitely "random" lolI just tried to update Super Smash Bros. from 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 and yes, the RPX is still the same (but file replacement in other folders works fine) and the game goes weird ( http://i.imgur.com/NCxGnfJ.jpg XD ), do you have any idea on how to replace files in the "code" folder ?
The access to the code folder is denied by the system. But I think the .rpx (executable) can be found in the ram (like with the .dol of wii and gcn games)I just tried to update Super Smash Bros. from 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 and yes, the RPX is still the same (but file replacement in other folders works fine) and the game goes weird ( http://i.imgur.com/NCxGnfJ.jpg XD ), do you have any idea on how to replace files in the "code" folder ?
Unless you have that obj converter, that would be impossible anyway.i would like to create a custom race at MK8 but Im on 5.4.0

What's the reasoning behind this? This seems like it's holding back the MK8 Custom Track community needlessly. If an importer already exists, why not releases it? I mean, I'm sure someone else will make one soon, but it just seems unnecessary to make us wait an unknown amount of time until another converter is made. Some sort of explanation would be greatly appreciated. You'd need a obj -> BFRES converter, which exists but won't be released. So no, a custom track isn't a possibility yet for the average user.

Welcome to the club. The only reason I'm on 5.4.0 was because I was told that it was safe to update, or else I'd still be on 5.3.2. Guess I should have been a bit more hesitant towards updating.i would like to create a custom race at MK8 but Im on 5.4.0

I don't want to sound rude, but you should have used this method firstBefore anyone tells me I shouldn't have updated, I got ninja'd by a network IP change. I'm now using my router's parental controls to block updates.
So not only needlessly holding back the browser exploit, but they're needlessly holding back this converter too?
WTH is going on with the Wii U Scene?! I actually miss the Wii Scene.
That pisses me off too. Obviously, 5.4 isn't safe as they're needlessly holding back the browser exploit. It would have been better if they didn't release the kernel exploit.
inb4 "they claim they didn't say it was safe".
They are hardly "needlessly holding back the browser exploit". They haven't released it yet because it wasn't patched and is one of the only ways, if not the only way of currently getting userland access on 5.5.So not only needlessly holding back the browser exploit, but they're needlessly holding back this converter too?

I'm not really pissed off more than I am bummed that support wasn't released immediately, however, MN1's reasoning,That pisses me off too. Obviously, 5.4 isn't safe as they're needlessly holding back the browser exploit. It would have been better if they didn't release the kernel exploit.
is completely valid - don't get me wrong. It's a bad idea to release software that isn't in a usable state because you'll have people that bitch that it isn't working when they expect it to, and it just creates more headaches for those that worked on it in the first place.it's not in a very usable state yet
