No, i'm not using any game in cia format, my cryptofixed .3ds rom was working fine on gw3.2, 9.5 n3ds emunand, so I don't get this AP patch nor what this whole update does...
Original, unmodified .3ds dump doesn't work on GW Ultra 3.3. You are using modified version, so it should works. No, i'm not using any game in cia format, my cryptofixed .3ds rom was working fine on gw3.2, 9.5 n3ds emunand, so I don't get this AP patch nor what this whole update does...
Yup. It is also firmware spoofed, thanks to SciresM's Patcher.I see.
So the translated rom removed the AP?

The 3ds version of fire emblem if was not working before, now it is.
The cia version of fire emblem if was working fine before, that's true. It's all about convenience and playable future 3ds releases.
TO THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT CRYPTOFIX: THIS IS NOT SOMETHING GATEWAY CAN FIX. IT'S A FILE FORMAT/DUMP PROBLEM.
Cryptofix was introduced for 9.6+ .CIA dumps. These 9.6+ .CIA dumps *should* work fine *in theory* given that the proper seeddb files are delivered and installed correctly. Since the current CIA install methods do not know anything about a seeddb, they just install a 'crypted' CIA file as-is. These tools need to be improved so that they can deal with the seeddb.
What is happening now is that some people apparently know how to deal with this and they create a 'regular' CIA dump that negates the seedb, thus creating a CRYPTOFIX version, so that regular CIA tools can install them.
If I am incorrect in any of this please correct me.

yeah there is/was 2 different issues at hand, the AP flag which was a really simple fix as you could literally bypass it by changing a flag in the header of the game to disable the check from taking place and that only applied to .3DS games), and there is 9.6 encryption which doesn't effect o3DS users as they can simply use 9.6+ emunand, as n3DS users cant use 9.6+ emunand any games using 9.6+ crypto will need a crypto fix to be playable on a n3DS, the only fix for this one is gateway pulling out the big guns and breaking the new new3DS encryptiondont think it only happens with cias , I needed a cryptofixed version for attack on titan and it was a 3ds
Yeah, you can convert it with SaveDataFiler and CFW.Am I like the only one that's still waiting for the save conversion update for gateway? xD. (I want to play my retail ssb without getting the save data corrupted. I thought I read somewhere about save file editer or something able to do the job).
Oh well. Yey for the upcoming cheat system (hopefully gateway can somehow block internet connection if the cheat mode is activated to stop online cheaters)

What does the new firmware version spoof actually do? Has anyone actually encountered a game that didn't use to work, but works after 3.4? I thought the only games that didn't work were the ones that required a cryptofix, and those probably still need that.
Yeah, you can convert it with SaveDataFiler and CFW.
But Xenoblade already works on GW, maybe the new patch doesn't apply to any games that are currently out.My guess its something like firmlaunch. Lets say you buy a N3DS and youre on 9.0 and want to play Xenoblade Chronicles or something like that, well this actually lets you spoof and play newer games on "unsupported" firmware.
