Gaming [Question] New Nintendo 3DS - Black + Nippon-Yasan

My question is,

Has anyone ordered a New Nintendo 3DS - Black from them [Nippon-Yasan] recently? I noticed the price had dropped from when I first got my White N3DS from them. So I am wondering if these are still the 1st initial shipments that was below 9.3 Firmware~

I want to order a black one so I can make it a full USA ver. but only if it's under firmware 9.2

I ordered mine a couple months ago from Nippon-Yasan. The firmware I believe was 9.0J.

Nippon-yasan is just an Amazon reseller. They literally buy stuff from amazon.co.jp and forward you the package.

So it depends on what Amazon's sending out

So I just got my N3DS J - Black aaaaaaaaand it was on Firmware 9.1.0-20J Woohoo!! I got super lucky! This one was definitely from a 2nd/3rd Shipment. Because my white one (N3DS J) was on firmware 8.X.XJ.

Updated this info just incase someone else was on the fence like I was before~

Out of curiosity, were you able to receive one with 9.0-9.2j? I tried going through your recent postings and I couldn't tell. I'm also interested in buying from there if that's what they're sending out.

I held out on purchasing one since I acquired an American New 3DS XL on 9.0 lately (second hand, barely used). I might still purchase one but I don't want to take the gamble as they might start shipping with 9.2+. The only Japanese New 3DS that's guaranteed to be on <9.2 is the Japanese Super Smash Bros. New 3DS XL. I saw it on a thread a while back, they all came with 8.1J, although one user had an issue where the supplier had opened the box and updated it manually....

If I do get one, I'll post my results, but it won't be anytime soon, as I already own one that was updated accidentally.

The best thing to do in your situation is to find a 9.0 Japanese game cart and update that way (I don't think there are any 9.2 carts). But even then, it isn't a full game update. I would keep the 3ds, returning it would be a gamble as most New 3DS systems are 9.2+.

It doesn't seem like there are any carts currently with 9.0j, other than the eshop title Sugar Rush 3D which won't work anyway since I can't run ninjhax on 8.1. I did manage to find a rom copy of it but from looking through the threads here it seems foolish to attempt an update in gw mode...

Yea, I'll probably decide to keep my 8.1j system instead and wait for better methods to be released. The 3ds scene is moving fast and a new entry point might just be around the corner!
