Hello guys, I'm having an annoying issue with Windows 10.
The OS is working beautifully after it booted, but this isn't what I am going at.

Basically, I have 2 partitions in my HDD, One with Windows 10, and a backup partition with Windows 7.
So, everytime I turn ON my laptop, it shows the Windows 10 logo, which is normal. But, it then loads stuff from the HDD, takes FOREVER (around 15-20 minutes!) to show the dual boot screen, you know, the blue screen asking me if I want to boot to Windows 10 or Windows 7

Then, I either select one or other, and it takes less than a minute to load!

What the actual fuck is wrong with this dual boot screen? I can't believe there are so much stuff to load, with the blue screen and mouse driver

Anyone experiences a similar issue, or is it my computer going nut?

With Windows 7 alone, it tooks less than a minute to load, and by a minute, I already opened the start menu :(

You could go to walmart purchase a 2tb portable drive backup all your stuff and do a fresh install of windows 10 then just return the drive after your done saying my PC does not recognize it.

6 sec on my mechanical black drive (I just upgraded from a fresh install of 7 home)
Darn, the problem is my computer then :(

I seriously don't understand why the dual boot screen takes so long to load...

What are your system specs btw?
Outdated, but above minimum requirement.

No wonder your pc takes forever to dual boot its very weak, check to see if you have the latest BIOS update and if you do go into the BIOS and set its settings to default and do a fresh install of windows 10 (make sure you get your KEY first!)

Your processor is killing your boot times

Bios settings is set to default. why would it changes anything, I may ask? I mean, everything works, the only detail that bugs me is the long time the dualboot screen takes to load :(

The only thing I can think of is the installation is messed up or your drive is corrupt/dying
Yeah, the second option seems to be it. My drive is getting old.

I got a corrupted OS a week ago, but now everything works. The drive was acting up. lowlevel format somehow fixed it.
Like I said, before I installed windows 10, boot to windows 7 was quick.

If it takes that long to get to the boot menu, I'd think either there's an issue loading one of the controllers (prolly SATA) or an issue reading from one of the drives referenced in the bootmenu.

I forget which commands would help the latter... fixmbr or rebuildbcd or something. It's too early in the morning for me~

That's what I was fearing :( Maybe my HDD is close to its death.

Thanks for replies guys. I will see if I can get another HDD and get a new fresh install on it.
I could also get a new computer, but, heh. Why changing something that works?
