Its a trick, he wants you guys to post up where you guys are DL'ing them from. Keep your posts free of info and don't feel sorry for someone who doesn't know how to shop for a legit mSD, don't know how to use a sky3ds, and sucks at googling. Basically too damn lazy to do any kind of leg work.

Despite searching for hours for specific roms, fiddling with multiple SD cards and the even having to get 4 busses into my local city centre TWICE just to buy two "legitimate" sd cards and a micro sd card reader.

Pretty damn lazy. I agree.

Really, everyone has been blowing this out of proportion. It's insane how fast this thread has exploded. Jarrad's rather acidic behavior probably hasn't helped, but a lot of people have been only reading part of his posts, jumping to conclusions, and seeking to mock rather than help.

The biggest problem has been the Sky3DS card he has does not seem to be working properly. The most likely causes that I am aware of, given the symptoms he's mentioned, are poor contact between the Sky3DS and the 3DS, or the Sky3DS and the microSD card. Inserting a piece of paper to help the connectors stay in contact may help, and would reinforce his case with the retailer for a replacement card. I haven't owned a Sky3DS myself, so I don't know what other troubleshooting steps to try beyond that, though.

He has stated that he can find roms, just that he doesn't like waiting on the "free" downloads because they take longer and are less convenient. At least that's my interpretation of his posts. Multiple people have commented on places to go for them, so either he can find those places or he can't, either he can put up with some of the more annoying parts of downloading or he can't, but that's basically on him. Even when he has roms, the main issue is still getting a working Sky3DS, and that's what should be focused on.

Why not just ignoring op;)
Actually all of us are giving the same solution to OP, but he keeps saying ' do you think I am that stupid ?(actually yes) I have (actually haven't) tried this and that and they all suck(actually he sucks)
So no more point for further replying.
You asked. Others replied. You pissed them off
There hasn't been a constructive flow in this thread from the beginning. There have been a few people that have tried to help me, to which I've actually replied to the people that have read my OP and used their brain to see where the actual problem lies.

People suggesting where to find roms and advising me to get a new microsd card aren't offering help, despite what they think. If they had read the OP properly then they would know.

The majority of the people in this thread took my post as troll bait, instead of even trying to help me, so don't make a post about how "I'm opposed to the idea of help" when in reality nobody has really been able to answer the question that my OP summarizes.

This thread isn't a plea for help. It's a warning not to buy Sky3DS unless you want to risk encountering similar problems to what I've had. I emailed my sky3ds retailer a few days ago regarding a refund lol...

Thoroughly read things if your brain doesn't immediately process what you're looking at. That way you'll avoid making incorrect posts.

It is funny that nobody else has had as much trouble as you. If hundreds of people are using Sky3DS happily and you're the only one who isn't, I don't think the problem lies with the product.

obviously, sky team doesn't really care the user.....
read button, blue button....etc....one day, rainbow button sky card!!!

I dont know.. Maybe a defective sky3ds? It's weird, i visit often gbatemp and i never seen a topic like yours posted right now. Also why you warn others not to buy sk3ds just because only you having this problem with the sd card and roms searching.

Huh, strange because I bought a Sky 3DS two weeks ago and had absolutely no issues with it. :/ Sorry to hear that your Sky was troublesome, sounds like it's one of those problems, in which I would recommend talking to the reseller who you purchased from. Like everyone said. ;P

And I haven't seen mentions of Transcend memory cards. Those have never gone wrong at all.

You have been rather hostile from the beginning, and that's the biggest thing people are reacting to. Even by your own admission, you aren't interested in solving a problem, so why should anyone want to help you? Also, you had said previously that you contacted the Sky3DS team, not your retailer, about a refund. (If you corrected that, I must've missed it in the flood of posts, and I apologize.)

Also, I posted on Page 2 earlier today, with mostly the same thing, but that seems to have been lost in the flood. The biggest thing is to focus on the problem at hand, and solutions to that problem. Anger and hostility (from either direction) won't make your Sky3DS suddenly start working, unfortunately. Just like I've got two broken fan blades on a case fan that can attest that smacking your computer to make the fans stop rattling isn't the correct course of action, either...

You've said you've performed the initialization of the Sky3DS that was mentioned earlier. Have you run h2testw on your SD cards to verify them? Is there another card reader you can use, in case your current reader is causing problems in writing the games to the cards? Are there any other troubleshooting steps you can take to narrow down the root cause of the card's failure? Whether we get this card working, or verify its failure so you can get it replaced, either way gets you a working Sky3DS and lets you enjoy games, so let's work on that.

no.....my friend's Transcend 32gb has the freeze game problem, we can't really tell which brand sd card has no issue with sky.
I personally reccomend sandisk, Toshiba and Transcend.

^^^^^ This. An SD card may appear to work just fine, but eventually the game hangs or freezes. I had an issue with a Samsung EVO 32GB card, and had to switch it with a Sandisk Ultra 32GB because the Samsung kept freezing, even though it appeared to be working okay. I personally blame the SKY team for this, since they don't support many brands of microSD cards.

£58 for 3 SD cards is pretty expensive when you're a university student living on a budget.

Why are you buying 3 sd cards? Chances are they are all fake if you are having this much of an issue.

I actually know of one other person. There was a thread a month or two back. Guy straight out refused to send it back for a replacement though. It was obviously defective.

If you seriously want "roms" to play you have plenty, plenty of choices, for the beginning, you could use Ninjhax 2.0 to allow you region free in your games, and since you apparently live in England, i suggest you to find an original copy or digital of Cubic Ninja to run that program, you can also load homebrew in there.

The second option is to rewrite the rom and change the region of the game, for example, let's just say that you want a japanese game but is region locked, you could simply change the region with an specific program, i've heard of some programs that can do it, but is not always effective, you can either hit or miss, so, it's like a double edge sword.

Lastly, is to download cias, and then, convert them to .3ds, cias are way, way easier to find than 3ds roms, ironically, but to convert them is another thing, you'll need programming experience, and you must unlock everything that is packed into the .cia, is not easy, but not impossible, there isn't a program to do it automatically, so, you gotta have to do some steps apart to unlock the content and reconvert it to cia.

In my humble opinion, i suggest you the first option, if you can pay to download roms (Which is stupid) you sure can pay for a copy of Cubic Ninja, and remember, if you want to download roms, do it with a good server, like MEGA or DF, don't trust surveys, you're going to be scammed if you put a survey, the people who do it is almost as stupid as the people who believes that a CFW past 3.55 OFW for the PS3 exist, the only thing we have is Pexploit for the moment so, just take my word, find a good and stable place where you can download with all the security, especially a forum dedicated, or a blog, anything that doesn't have a survey or "Premium accounts", that's just stupid, and finally, you don't need to install programs that allow you to download 3ds rom automatically, you just need to look straight, and know what kind of sites are the ones you want, i recommend you the ones that doesn't have too much publicity, they're usually a lie for the consumers.

I don't have a Sky3ds, but this is the help that i can give you, it can be stressing, but instead of throwing money to solve the problems, do it for yourself, experiment, try to prove different ways, make a list about the possibilities of this or that, you just need to do it for yourself, don't depend on others, i don't know the quality of the 3DS, but i'm sure as hell that is not a problem that can't be countered, you jut need to focus what is wrong, and what is right, and work to make it work, period.

I'm sorry your experience hasn't been the best. However, I've had a Sky3DS since the Blue Button revision came out. Haven't had any of the issues you've been having. Haven't any problems loading, downloading, saving or corruption of my FOUR MSD cards that have been inside of the device. You might have a bad one. Doesn't mean it's terrible as a whole. I hate these types of threads. Belittling a company cuz you got unlucky. Please...
