Well, here's the question:

I know putting Wii IOS's is brickable to the vWii. But what if you installed it on vSNEEK? What would happen? I am just concerned.

EDIT:

DSC00134.jpg

I got uLoader working on vWii, except for one thing: It's endless loop on this screen. Although it still runs some background processes like leaving it there for 5 minutes dims the screen a bit. Although I am not sure this may help, please examine these vCIOS's, these are very important.

https://mega.nz/#!lkAVADIB!B4V1PVXrrrOH1-CpXpUWcQww5ap-oE0V0RjIrulFICM

Don't know if this is against the rules, just wanting these installed and see if it works on other Wii U vWii's. HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL!!!

Hope this changes the world (somehow).

Here's the original post:

EDIT 2: I finally got vCIOS 222-224 installed. Only one thing when I ran uLoader: It was stuck in a title screen endless loop. I am not sure why, it also stopped my flash drive from blinking, and I cannot connect my Wii Remote to the system. So I turned it off and turned it back on to the Wii U Menu and selected Wii Mode. And... WII MENU STILL WORKZ! YAYZ!!! :D But uLoader might be needing something to load up fully on Wii U. Here's a picture for proof:

DSC00134.jpg

And yes, it's stuck like this, the background is still going, though.

It would brick your vSNEEK NAND.
Thanks. Because, I extracted cIOS's 222-224, and put vWii contents in it, and replaced it. Then, I installed it on vSNEEK, and it works! I wonder if it works on other vWii's... you want the modified cIOS and test it on a experimental vWii? Ask me! B-)

EDIT: I always get an error -1017 when installing any of the WADs. Can you help me? :(

That sounds pointless. If you replace the contents of the cIOS, it will no longer be a cIOS as the patched content will be replaced with vanilla content.
But from the sound of it, you broke it when you replaced the contents and uLoader froze when it tried to load the cIOS.

Ohhhh, I though something needs to be changed inside uLoader's source or something. Now that you said it's broken, we REALLY need a patching tool... :(

Actually, it loaded fully, it's just that it's stuck at the title screen in uLoader.

Okay. There's something you need to understand.

SNEEK works the exact same way as the regular NAND, except that NAND access is redirected to an SD card (or for UNEEK, a USB drive) where the extracted contents of the NAND lay open for modification. What this means is that anything that won't work on a regular vWii NAND will not work on SNEEK. So no, Wii CIOS will not work on vWii without them being recreated from the ground up.

Even then, why do you want Wii cIOS in vWii? What advantage does that hold? There are many more USB loaders other than uLoader that are still in active development and are specifically designed to work on vWii. vWii has cIOSes with the same permissions as the ones you're trying to install from Wii.

Also, when you replace the contents of cIOS 222-224 with vWii IOS contents, aren't you just replacing the patched content with unpatched content?

And uLoader getting to the title screen does not mean it "works". It's just frozen looking to install things that don't work on vWii.

The exception is system menu mods, which are actually possible in vSNEEK, since it's not using an encrypted system menu binary :)

Why do you want to run uLoader though? It's horribly outdated by today's standards, and Hermes' cIOS hasn't been updated in a long time either. There's no reason to go with anything other than d2x and either of Wiiflow/USB Loader GX/Configurable USB Loader today.

Sorry. I didn't really know that there was "patched" content in the apps. I thought it was patched only in the TMDs and TIKs. @knm was interested into this as well, so I am thinking maybe there is a way (What he said).

Also, "It's just frozen looking to install things that don't work on vWii?" What does that mean?

For fun, actually.

If there was newer features (Like if Hermes DIDN'T leave the scene), then it wouldn't be somewhat "outdated". Well, I use Wiiflow, too. Wiiflow has covers that are nice. :P I like Wiiflow the most, but the only WBFS partition reader (uLoader) needs to be on the works, as well somehow.

BTW,

Here is from another post from another thread that there is SOME way to do it:

Hey guys, I'm a little bit new here, but I was gonna ask the same thing, I found some source codes too, but it might help you:

Uloader 5.1
- https://github.com/spacemanspiff/uLoader

Hermes CIOS
- https://github.com/spacemanspiff/Hermes--cIOS
- https://github.com/spacemanspiff/odip-plugin

If Hermes CIOS was modified by adding and patching on the source code, it can let you install on Wii U vWii and it can run on Uloader 5.1 on Wii U vWii instead modified uLoader's source code. I was thinking, like the other cIOS installers (d2x Installer, ios236 installer, etc.. mod for vWii) on Wii U on vWii, it there's the way can anyone can modified and/or added the new codes on hermes cIOS by patching them so it can install the new Hermes cIOS (202,222,223, and 224) on Wii U vWii? I think they got the patches (like runtimeiospatches and iospatches) on it but here's the pages on the bottom but it's in these website:

- ios236-installer-vwii (https://github.com/Nanolx/ios236-installer-vwii/tree/master/source)
- homebrewfilter (https://github.com/Nanolx/homebrewfilter/tree/master/libruntimeiospatch/source)

I also went to these website but I found the codes where its said, "Kill_AntiSysTitleInstallv3" and "Kill_AntiSysTitleInstallv2_ptx_old[] and Kill_AntiSysTitleInstallv2_ptx_patch[]":

- https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-can-install-ios-in-vwii-but.338809/page-5

If anyone can added and modified these patch on the Hermes CIOS source code it would be a good idea, but I'm not sure its gonna work or not, I just guessing though, so it might help you. That's all, I search and found the codes so far.

uLoader was designed to work on a regular Wii. It's probably looking for IOSes that don't exist on vWii anymore. I really don't know.
The point is, vWii is not an exact copy of the Wii, and there are a lot of apps that just don't work for various reasons which can't be identified unless you dig through the source code.

Alright. I guess uLoader needs a source change then. I don't know how to code, so I guess the rest is up to everyone, I guess.

I need to go back to Wiiflow soon...

Well, first of all, the cIOS source code might have to be modified to work with vWii IOS, then it would have to be applied to a vWii IOS base.
That might be enough to get uLoader working, or it might not. If not, then uLoader would have to be modified as well.
It's no easy task for someone who's unfamiliar with Hermes' source code, but it can be done. It's not worth the effort just for fun though, so unless you are intending to do it yourself, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Newest Nick Team, I got the Wii U and On Wii mode I installed homebrew channel. I run Uloader 5.1x on Wii U in Wii mode and just like you said, it run on the background title screen endless loop and not doing anything. Same thing, I try either or both original and motion plus built in Wii Remotes, and it also not do anything. Like you said again, I'll unplugged and plugged back in and the Wii menu works. I don't know and not sure, but I'm thinking something wrong, it act like something is missing like the codes or stuffs, because the cursor (which look like a hand) of remote does suppose to be appear. And red error message in the box suppose to be appear so it can exit you out and send you to homebrew channel, and red message suppose appear so it can verified and accessed by plug in the device, like SD, USB HDD, and USB DVD is in without exiting out. That's all I was thinking.

I'm not very good on codes, I wish somebody can modified and compiled both Hermes CIOS and Uloader 5.1x, because it would be grateful and helpful.

I almost forgot, Newest Nick Team if you still there, I think there is the way, the part where you extract the contents for cios 222-224 and screen title stuck on screen, I think this might help, I went to the following pages and find this. And it might tell you need to use the hex editor on it:

Wii title database: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Title_database
-Wii IOS History: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS_History
Wii U title database: http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Title_database

You can backup cios 249, 250, and 251 to sd or usb by using bluedump mod or any devices, and extract cios d2x 249, 250, and 251 on both Wii and Wii U mode, take both hex editor and compared each other and see what the different. Or you can use ShowMiiWad (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/ShowMiiWads) so it show information of the wads and see what's wrong. I' m not sure it gonna work, but this might help.
