i just wanna ask a quick question because i cant find it anywhere. do i need emunand 9.8 to go online? i wanna use omega 2.7 but is it support 9.8? i guess not, so can we just say this? gw 2.7 omega users cant go online? am i right?

Hi, I've not used my 3ds in over a year and a lot has changed in that time, I'm completely lost. I have an o3ds on 4.4fw and r4i gold deluxe thingy. I'd like to switch to rxtools 2.5 with emunand 9.8 using MSET, and need some help understanding a couple of things-

1. Can I install 9.8 emunand using the gw 3.22 ultra launcher.dat with my r4i ds card? No chance of it bricking anything right?

2. Mine is a USA region console. Can I run JPN titles as .cia or cias region locked?

3. Once I install emunand and rxtools, how do I boot into emunand?

4. After using the ds cart to play ds games, does it reset the profile exploit? Will I need to install it again? Is there anyway around this?

Installing the 1.4 update will include all previous updates. Each update replaces the previous one, normally.

I want to buy a bigger SD card for my 3DS, how can I transfer files from one to the other? Just drag and drop? I don't have any bought games on it, only some demos and the two free Pokémon games, and I have some pictures from the camera, and some music.

Yeah, drag and drop will work.

The 3ds only detects fat32 filesystem, any good formatter should work. If the SD card is >32gb, though, you'll have to go through some extra steps to get it formatted correctly

I heard that to save games on Sky3DS, you need to cycle... So does this mean that saving in-game will not work? I do not want to cycle through each time im done playing it. Otherwise I have to cycle through all the roms to get back to the game. My Sky3DS did not arrive yet, so I don't know how it works.

Yeah. Anything that's on your card that you copy to another card should work, as long as you put the card in the same system (or if you're doing a system transfer)

I was wondering what's the advantage and disadvantage of Pasta, RXtools(SysNAND only) and RXtools(with EmuNAND) have over each other for a 4.5 3ds? Both with and without a DS flashcart (my DStwo is dying/dead, and I haven't decided if I should spend my money on a new flashcard yet). Can any of them get a 7.0+ game running or work without requiring a internet connection, for example?

Also, what's ReiNAND?

Edit: Besides what is given on the main pages for tools to download, what else should I get software wise to go with them, the Homebrew app for example.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the tool to see if my sd card was fake and it said the card was working without any errors. I just bought a second micro SD card, SAMSUNG brand name from the retail store and copied the games directly from the old SD to the new SAMSUNG micro SD and the same gases have white spaces on them? When I click the white space, no game loads What do you think? Thanks!

You are confused here, your question should not be about install domething on SD card vs emunand, your question sounds like install on sysnand vs emunand, because they are both in the SD card.

Emunand is just a 1GB partition in the SD card that emulates a firmware version, so you can "install things in emunand" but this means that they will be on the SD card itself and the "licenses" are into the emunand partition.

If you don't have enough space to install something on emunand you won't be able to install in sysnand neither because your SD card has run out of space and will give an error on both.
