However, perhaps I'm wrong. I edited my previous post because I read up on Amiibos, the GameFaq link below, and the replies in this thread still seem to be contradictory.

The links mention training with the Amiibo, how do you train the Ryu Amiiboo if you've installed the legit game and DLC and don't actually have the Ryu Amiibo but now have access to play Ryu in-game character?

Sorry , I didn't directly link to it though. I added the last bit of the link. So far I doubt a lot of the people here would even know what to do with the last bit of the link. And if warez aren't allowed here, why is it allowed to be freely discussed ? Or why are there releases for CIA installers here if they're warez ? I don't know how to be more blunt about this. Amiibos don't give you access to characters !!!!! They are useless to the dlc. You DO NOT NEED amiibos to use dlc. That's with every single person who has them.

I can get the update 1.0.8 and the new dlc to work with smash on gateway mode sysnand and emunand 9.0 because gatewaymode haves firmeware spoof. But I'm looking for a method to play it in pasta 9.0 sysnand and I haven't been able to :/ If someone else knows how to please let me know! Thanks in advance.

How do you train Ryu, Power up Ryu, or Battle with or Against Ryu?

Incase you're still confused. You cannot train Ryu or power up Ryu without the Amiibo.

You can play with or against Ryu as a level 1-9 cpu.

You can play as Ryu or either of the other DLC characters just like any other character in the game.

The dlc unlocked the characters, and there is Amiibo support for those with a N3ds, but only for Amiibos that are currently out for sale; Ryu not being one of them yet.

I don't own any Flashcard, I only have PastaCFW on SysNAND 9.0 and a legit copy oof Super Smash Bros.
After Updating to 1.0.8, the Game won't boot anymore.
If someone can help me with this, tell me (link to working patch via PM recommended)

You have to be on the newest firmware, or at least 9.8. The patch is encrypted with 9.8 keys I believe. If you run the patch on any other firmware less than 9.8, the game will not boot.

What a lot of people have done is update their emunand to 9.8 and done everything from their emunand.

I know but for New 3ds user without gateway ( not me) They are tuck on sysnand 9.0- 9.2 on pasta cfw. and there is a way to fix the the newer games encryption like for example attack on titan humanity in chains only used to work on 9.8 sys or emunand but one user CF31 from that iso site used something called CRYPTOFIX and now the game can be played on lower firmware.

To fix that, I decrypted that dump, recompiled it without the new encryption Gateway doesn't support on N3DS, and reuploaded it.

Easiest way to understand how the Amiibos work, would probably be to watch a video on them.

An Amiibo stores data though, when you load one onto the N3ds / Wiiu & battle against them, they learn based on the moves you use (If you were to say get a Pikachu amiibo and only use thunderbolt while training it, that's pretty much all the amiibo would use. ). The more time and effort you put into them the higher their level goes.

There's no advantage to owning an Amiibo, they just allow you to 2v2 with one other person if you both have an Amiibo, or play against a cpu that's more challenging from what I understand.

They will not work online though.

Example of Amiibo being used for anyone who was confused. Since Wi-Fi matches don't give you the option to upload an amiibo, from my experience, it's safe to assume they ARE NOT compatible with online matches
