Hardware NAND Flash Dump (2DS)

Hello temps! I'm here asking for any help, my 2DS got a semi-brick, I've done a hard-mod and nothing seems to work... This is my sad story...

I use this 2DS for experimental things... Gateway, emuNAND, rxTools... etc. so, every time I do something with it, I do a NANDBackup with Gateway Tools, I have at least 4 of them and checked, so, this is not a problem.

Some weeks ago I were searching a way to use the Mset exploit with my 2DS without any success (Obviously), but in the way I installed the downgraded System Settings App, and here is the problem, I left SSA installed and continued with my life, then last week I format my 2DS to create a unlinked NAND, but...

When the First Menu appears, it want me to turn on the 3D Slider to continue the configuration, which obviously don't exist, this is because of the downgraded SSA I've installed.

Well, this is not a problem, I just need to do a hard-mod to restore my NAND's Backups and problem resolved... at least that's what I thought...


So then... I double checked my wires and I've done again the work, I've cut the wires too, and went to a Tech Plaza to try with lot of readers... but my PC don't recognize it. Without the SD Card inserted it boot up normal to the images above, with SD Card inserted it boot the Blue Screens, sometimes the errorcode change...

1. Shorten your wires.

2. Get a better SD card reader. The 2DS is picky to which eMMC reader it will work with.

I've already cut the wires as much as I can, half or more from the picture.

I'm from México and can't find the reader 'Transcend ', which supposedly works fine, is it there any others that is confirmed to work?
Or what I can do to search for the correct?

Your soldering looks fine, so I would say the problem is down to the reader you're using.
I've read someone say that readers with MMC support are getting rare nowadays.

yeah very hard :/ I've tried with almost 9 or so, no one works for me :/

only card ready i got one to work with was the trancend RDP8K......but i would say keep the wires ultra short for best results.......also try this

While booting up a 3DS system that is not set up, with a 3DS Game Card in it: A+B+X+Y+R -> force the game to boot, regardless of setting up the system

if you have a retail copy of CN, insert it and you *should* be able to update the system to avoid the old 2ds unfriendly setup

well oot only works for booting gateway on the n3DS, best bet is getting hold of CN and simply using FBI to update system settings back to 6.x+

but at least we learned something from this, downgrading MSET on a 2DS is not a smart idea

CN is probably the most useful game for the 3DS in terms of hacking....if you know anyone with a sky3DS you could use that too.....do you remember exactly what FW you where on as you will need that to install ninjhax to run FBI.....just a general idea should be ok, might just mean retrying with all the different browser versions if you don't know what the last 2 digits where

PS can you get back to the homescreen when booting a game that way? (never tested it myself) if so you might just be able to get back into pasta/patched Rxtools and update MSET that way

nope i just meant launching Rxtools via the browser......but i guess booting directly to the game disables the homescreen feature.....hopefully that doesn't interfere with ninjhax in anyway

yeah the GW CN exploit is n3DS only, but you can use ninjhax to launch FBI which can then update MSET.....from there you can setup your system as normal and optionally restore a nand backup via the gateway menu should you choose to do so
