i wonder for those that have no opendns blocker and just have wii u connections detected will it be possible to acess the hack without updating? since the wii u now tries to update as soon as you connect the internet cable.

Disabling downloads as soon the console is booted might work, but only for the time it is turned On.

network connection ≠ internet connection.

Anyone know what the update files look like? naming convention. I am guessing if its as simple as getting to take a Update from the SD, then there has to be a way to trick it to take it, but it may require a mod to the FW.

But does anyone know how they name updates? is it several files packed in a zip? is it a single *.bin, what is the naming of the *.bin?

Any input would be appreciated.

There are a few examples in the SDK if you want to cheat.

I think we should focus on backing up the NAND before trying to downgrade using untested crafted or leaked recoveries, so that it would be possible to restore the NAND if something goes wrong...

You can block WAN access in your router, host the exploit locally.
