Hacking o3ds, n3ds, gateway and cubicninja, what are my options ?

Hello

I`ve been out of the loop for a while, and was hoping you all could help me answer a few questioens.
I have:
O3ds xl on 5.1.0-11E (ambassador staus and a few bought digital games.)
N3ds xl on 9.0.0-20E
Cubic ninja, Zelda oot, and Gateway just came through the door.
Also have cart dongle named "r4I Save Dongle" (could it be used with power saves ?)
Both 3ds have never been used with cfw or gateway before.

I enjoy the N3DS system more because of the improvements, and ideally i would like to transfer the O3DS (ambassador staus and digital games) to the N3DS, and wait for eshop acces (wich is not currently possible if i understand correctly).
Can the above be done ?
Can i acces game patches and game online features ?

What would you do in my situation if you wanted to keep 1 system (sell of the other)and have as many features available ? ( i could live without eshop acces atm, but hope it would be available in the future)

obviously keep the gateway and the N3DS, if it were me id just keep both. you can just grab the ambassador roms and put them on your 3ds ;p

Hehe, i was not aware that they were "available" for install, still reading up on this stuff Are you referring to using pasta and installing them as .cia or can they run from Gateway ?
Guess i`ll start setting up Gateway on the N3DS and venture further from there.

I'm in the same boat as you, but personally I just play my N3DS with my Gateway card and I leave the original one alone. I only used Cubic Ninja once to load up the Gateway menu initially, but after that it's been alone. Though I may look into using Pasta if I wanna play some GBA roms.

If you care about your saves, use the save dongle to grab them from your original system and put them into your new one.

Well got my n3ds setup up with gateway, got all my games backed up ( timely process ) and setup emunand on same version as sysNand.
I`ve been reading up on stuff, but I`m still stumped on game updates (not DLC). Can i get them with my current set up ? mind pointing me in the right direction please

Game updates (and DLC for that matter) can both be installed as .cia files, just like regular games.

you will need a cia installer, google bigbluemenu.

If you care about your saves, use the save dongle to grab them from your original system and put them into your new one.

I usually Boot into NTR and you will be able to rip all the saves but since op o3ds is 5.x then he can use gw launcher to rip the saves

Cheers all, getting the hang of this now... one last thing though.

How can i use the homebrew launcher on gateway (emuNand), i want to use some .3dsx files.
Do i just use a backup copy of QN in emuNand and follow the intructions on the website as normal ?

It depends on what you're trying to run. If the .3dsx is a user land written homwbrew app it works on emunand but if it's anything that requires native_firm or arm9/11 you need to run it through a retail cart on system nand.

How I ninjahax on emunand is boot to gw menu and boot into gw mode by holding B and boot cn from a .3ds (with the qr tag edited into the save so I don't have to scan every time) this allows you to play user land .3dsx files

Edit: this only works on the n3ds. The o3ds needs launcher 2.7
