So basically there is 3 things i would like in fbi
1 apps title
2 install cia in sleep mode
3 number of bytes installed / total bytes + writing speed +time left
The first item I hope to be able to do eventually, but at the moment I'm not sure how to do it, mainly with already installed apps. The second thing likely won't be happening, due to how sleep mode works and is handled. And the third... maybe. We'll see.
I understand but an option menu to chose what to enable would be cool and a secure mode inside that prevent you from accidentally remove key apps for the system
I don't really see why a secure mode is necessary. The only way you'd be removing key system apps is by switching to NAND, and if you do that you'd better already know what you're doing. In other words, the NAND/SD toggle basically IS a secure mode.

or just a brand new file exchange homebrew

a separate p2p file exchange app is a great idea. but FBI could greatly benefit from a send function:
- use one application only (FBI) to dump installed CIA files or CIA files from SD card and send those to another 3DS (instead of having to use X separate applications)

Just a hypothetical question. I'm (understandably) too scared to just try.

What will happen if I install an 'illegit' (that is not bought from the eShop by mself, not legit) .CIA (f.e. a converted game backup CIA) to the MSD on SYSNAND (without any modifications / CFWs loaded)? How will these installations show up in my home menu (if they do at all)? Or will something bad happen?

really, you and people need to get over installing stuff to sysnand.
if you are just installing games/updates/dlc there is no reason to worry at all!

About the installed titles list... I can already deduct that it is not possible to display actual title names instead of the cryptic serial numbers (otherwise you would have done that). But, maybe you could display at least some information that may help us find out what content each entry is? I'm thinking about install date, installed app size, things like that.

if the home menu can show it, sure, something like FBI could too.
but, it would be a little tricky, you would have to decrypt the contents on the fly (possible since we are running on the 3ds) and read the name.
it would be a nice feature if someone made a little library for that or something, that other homebrews could use

When installing cias over the network with Sockfile, does the cia get copied to the mSD first, or it gets installed on the fly? ie: If I have 3 GB free in the mSD, would I be able to install a 2 GB cia, or I would need 4 GB of space; ie: two GB for the file and another two for the install?

You mean, even installing to the actual NAND (that means, not the SD) is uncritical as long as you're not installing any system stuff, right?

It gets installed on the fly.

Hello i have a problem.
when I try to install the Big blue menu cia with fbi i get the error title not found (0x78)
i already searched for it but found no one with the error
i am on 9.2.0-20 e and use the 3ds x version

Also here some additional Info how this happened.
I have installed bbm with fbi and everything worked fine. With bbm i installed some game Updates. It worked fine Untill ssb4. I tried to install it but my 3ds froze. So i did a Hard reboot. But After that all my cias that I have installed were gone. I looked up in fbi and saw that the y Are still on the sd, so I uninstalled bbm and re installed it again. But Then I got the error. I don't know if it is a problem with the sd, because on the PC and in ninjhax it works fine.

Sorry for the crappy Text, I write this from my Phone because I am on vacation right now

Okay, stupid question but...

I want to uninstall some games off of the SD card. However, I have no idea where I'm supposed to look. For example, I want to delete "Luigi's Mansion 2" and "New Super Mario Bros. 2". I know that the title id for both games are 0055f00 and 00137e00. I found the appropriate folder, but don't know what I'm looking for to delete. Can't I just pull up the SD card on my PC and delete the folder they're in entirely?

Use the data management tool in the 3DS' settings app. (Settings->Data Management->Nintendo3DS->Software)
Or use FBI's uninstall mode to remove them. But be very careful when removing anything so you don't delete the wrong app(s). Triple check the title ID before deleting.

I should probably mention that this will remove your save data for games you delete. If you wish to keep your data, do a save data backup. (Home Menu->Select game by putting cursor over it->Tap the ◄ button, then Save-Data Backup)
Some games like Pokemon or Smash Bros don't allow you do back up your saves this way to prevent save scumming. (Save scumming is reloading your saves from an earlier state to redo things, or to get items back after trading them away.)

I recall reading something about deleting from data management may prompt to backup data even if it's a game that disables it.
Whether that was true or not I fail to remember.
