So, I saw people were saying that even when they play ds games/dsiware - that the ds exploit still survives.
For me, it does not, and I want it to!

I don't understand why the exploit would NOT get wiped after running ds content, just like it wiped it on 4.5 old3ds.
I have had to reinstall the exploit twice so far, each time after I started dsiware.

If it matters:
I used FBI to delete the existing and then install the older system settings, then I installed nvram using the gw launcher option. I saw that some one who had the exploit stay had installed nvram, then installed old system settings, then installed nvram again.
I do not have any lower ds whitelist/flashcardtimewarp installed.
I'm on 9.2J

I have been enjoying Advance Wars Days of Ruin (dsiware) on my 3ds and it will be very convenient if I can play it without having to reinstall the exploit afterwards.

- New 3DS XL (Metallic Black EU)
- SysNAND 9.0
- Directly downgraded MSet with DevMenu
- Installed NVRAM through GW menu
- Test if it was working (it was)
- Downgraded Whilelist to v0 with DevMenu to re-enable GW Blue Card
- Profile exploit do not resist playing a DS game
- Use N3DS ROP installer now when I'm done playing DS games

Where to find the N3ds rop installer?

Go oonnn install flashcard time warp and see if that causes it to stick around :P

I downgraded the settings and installed time warp cia and then installed nvram through gw menu.
Used gw blue card and it didn't remove exploit. Used gw blue card again for a longer time and it did remove exploit.

I'm using the spoofed one....idk maybe the fact it's breaks the whitelist breaks something else that resets the NVRAM or something and the one time it was lost for me was just a fluke

I have noticed most of the people loosing it aren't using the blue card but a proper 9.x compatible card like the dstwo so they most likely never installed the broken whitelist

I think I found out. If I hold select while launching blue card, exploit gets removed. Nothing else removed exploit from my N3DS such as launching roms, saving etc.

It gets removed for me every time I launch a DS game. I used the Gateway method initially and then started using an R4i 3DS RTS to reinstall it afterwards. I'll try installing flashcard timewarp and use the blue card and report back my results.

For anyone who doesn't have the exploit getting removed, can you play DsiWare CIAs in Gateway mode?

The exploit doesn't get removed from my N3DS unless I hold select while launching ds mode. And I confirm that I can't launch DSiWare cia, getting black screen.

Any chance you can post step-by-step the install steps you took? There's so many different guides out there but whichever one you used was clearly the best!

CreativeMan posted in the other thread how he made it "stick"
https://gbatemp.net/threads/gateway-3-2-ultra-public-beta.387635/page-57#post-5471354
Hope the link works for you. I am waiting for a fool-proof guide first before I attempt this one! :D
sure, i mentioned this in the OP :) although, i would not say this is how he 'made' it stick. that sounds like before doing it normally, it did not stick.
and then, doing it how he shared, got the exploit to stick.
so, sure i could try what he did, although other people just did it 'normally', and it stuck for them.
(by 'normally' i mean just downgrading and installing nvram, not installing nvram, downgrading, then installing nvram again -- although i really can't see how it would make a different anyway...)
