Yup but unless it is crypted with md5 like it would be theoricaly possible to fake nintendo signature

It's not md5, it's something that's MUCH more difficult to break than md5...

EDIT: Also you clearly don't have an understanding of encryption. md5 specifically is a hash algorithm, normally used for quick file validation. What is more likely being used is something along the lines of AES or so (I haven't personally looked into it, so it very likely is already documented).

Anywhay It's still crypted so the two only ways are to leak nintendo'sdk or to patch signature check wich is much easier

We would still either need Nintendo's private key or find an exploit like the Wii had where we could fake sign content. Too bad we can only patch the check on emuNand.

It would also make anything signed illegal as all heck too. I'd really rather not have to keep the homebrew scene stuck to stolen signature patching. The original xbox scene was somewhat of a nightmare because of something similar to this...

And being that Nintendo didn't roll their own security this time around, I don't foresee fakesigning ANYTHING anytime soon. Only reason this worked at all on the Wii was because of botched RSA implementation, iirc.

Yeah, because it is not permanent. It requires to launch it everytime the console is rebooted.

I think that emunand is a good thing scince it avoid many bricks but it should be theoricaly possible to patch the bootloader to boot on sd directly if whe could get nintendo encryption

Not like it takes minutes to reload emulated nand. Sleep mode has its purpose.

Of course you have that stupid Gateway bug that kicks you out of emuNand when you exit settings. Having to reload a fresh emuNand is worlds easier and better than having to recover from a hard brick.

It's not a bug. System settings reboots the console to apply changes.

I can understand that but still it's annoying. It's a good idea to setup your sysNand Home menu and emuNand Home Menu differently so as not to confuse the 2 when updating the system. For me I made 3 extra folders that say SYS for sysNand and EMU for emuNand. I put them on the bottom left as I have 3 rows.

You should be able to backup the emuNand partition using most partitioning software. This would make recovery much quicker.
