Homebrew Idea to possibly run homebrew, code, or exploits on a (New) 3DS via Download Play

Can a 3DS capable of sending modified code send an exploit?

I'm not sure if this idea has been proposed by anyone before, but I was thinking we could run exploits or homebrew on an updated 3DS via Download Play.

I remember someone making a thread before about editing a Mario Kart 7 ROM with a custom track, and then went to download play, and the updated, non-hacked 3DS saw the ROM edit perfectly. That being said, I don't see why doing something else, like hiding an exploit, can't be possible. What do you guys think of this? Doable, impossible, or possible but very difficult?

Same problem with code needing to be signed. Of course the game can choose to transfer whatever data it likes (including modified data) but not code. And if you can find an exploit with the data, then of course you can also exploit the game directly (like CubicNinja or OOT)

I think I get what you're saying. So this won't be possible with just any ol' game that has a download play function. It needs to be exploitable?

Yeah and like I said, if it's exploitable we don't even care about the download play since you have the original game to exploit.

Could it be used to install an exploit on an upgraded system?

Probably not. Nintendo have already patched firmlaunchhax and memchunkhax (I think, refer to 3DBrew about exploits), so even if you could transfer some sort of payload and install it on someones upgraded console, I doubt it would be of any use to them anyway. Look at Cubic Ninja, for example - the only thing that exists on that is the entry point, even if you get an entry point on another console, what makes you think it'll be any use?

This is my theoretical opinion, of course. I don't know much about this stuff :P
