Hacking Trying to get e-shop games working on Sky3DS

The funny thing is I have never used YouTube before, strangely I think it'll take about the same time to learn that as it did to patch the SIG code.

The difference between me and you all is that I bothered to use IDA and GCC.
Oh and I don't slag people off within a couple of days... I wait over a month before asking why we haven't seen anything from KARL.

Everyone's just asking for believable evidence. We'd all be very happy if you got it to work, we just have issues believing in miracles due to the number of trolls on the net these days.



I can make magical templates too, that doesn't mean the game will work.

So what ends up happening is those that are actually capable of doing something (as you have noticed firsthand) are turned off from releasing what they've accomplished and they keep it all private.

So far the evidence provided is replicable within about 2 minutes (see thumbnail above), less if you use Sky Army Knife *shameless plug*. I'd say the skepticism is pretty well-grounded unless I see something more convincing.

You don't have to use youtube. Just record it with your phone and put it on dropbox or somewhere to download

I can't vouch for everyone, but I definitely don't intend to offend - I even posted some pointers. All I want is some evidence to back up the claims, really - all the power to Miss Penny regarding her work, I just reserve my right to be skeptical until I see something convincing.

as much as people are naturally skeptical after hearing 101 "oh i just made my cfw, here is some very inconclusive evidence" as there are people licking arse of anyone who mentions they have a rom loader.....up until they realise its not real at which point all hell breaks loose to the point where those same people are 100 times more offensive than any of the people who simply said " im not convinced, and the poor attempt a "proof" is even more suspicious"

It's not going to work on Sky3DS, your best bets are GW or a custom firmware with the capacity to install *.CIA's.

Foxi4 has no idea about how GW works

Even if you convert it to .3ds, sky3ds wil not run it. You will not be able to even write it on your card, because it is not in the template file.

You've developed something most people with a Sky3DS would want, with help from the community (although considering someone as knowledgeable and capable as yourself, I have no idea what knowledge you gained from making this thread), so why wouldn't you share that exploit?

As it was said above, we're not asking for anything extraordinary, just proof. There's no proof that there's a flying hamster orbiting around the solar system and chomping on super novas, that's why we don't believe that there is one out there and saying that "there sure is" is not convincing. What you're saying goes against the status quo and you saying it isn't enough to convince anyone that you're not just a troll. I asked in the first place as I thought I would get some good knowledge about where to find the code for the SIG's and cartridge encryption, I thought it would save me time...
It clearly didn't as I only got two people giving me anything usable.
I decided to take it to the next level myself and look at the 3DBrew site... here I found good info about where the SIG's would be (it tells you exactly what to look for).
I found once I had patched the SIG function (using one single line of code to change a 16bit thumb instruction from MOV R0,0 to MOV r0,1) that the rest of the e-shop content was exactly the same as cartridge data.
The only thing to do next was get the Sky3DS card to work.
I did this by waiting for the MAGIC missing 16 bytes nobody knows about in the template file to show up in memory when I used OOT. I then knew exactly where to stop the code and let the 3DS generate the 16 bytes needed for e-shop game and add them to the template file.
I then used one extra patch (a 16bit NOP instruction) to make the the kernel go in the right direction when it decided it was an e-shop game or a cartridge.

All sounds pretty easy, that's because it was!

First of all I was half joking, just because everyone loves shovel knight and you would pretty much have to be trolling to call it a rubbish game. Since you are playing the "I'm 48 and never been on the internet" card I'll mention that "confirmed troll" is a common response on internet forums, not always used seriously.

So it seems like you looked at reviews of it before "getting it to work on your sky3DS". Why then would you have not already known it was "emulated 8 bit rubbish" that you clearly must not be interested in, and why then did you even bother "getting it to work"?

And honestly, even if you got every single eShop game to work on sky3DS I wouldn't care - I don't own one! (though I guess I'd feel a little bad for other sky3DS owners, but then again you can already pirate the whole game cart library so who really needs free eShop games too?)

But your posts in the karl3DS thread and in this one show that you have some difficulties communicating with people, at least over the internet, so honestly I don't think any fault lies in our side of the court since any unknown developer should know they have to prove themselves in this scene. If you did figure things out, enjoy your pirated eShop games and 5 minutes of fame, otherwise enjoy whatever else you have in life.

I am not doubting your abilities, but when someone comes on the scene, with 0 knowledge about the 3DS, then a day or 2 later says they made a cfw or whatever, its pretty damn hard to believe.

i wonder why people who make claims never want to post any proof?........instead of getting all upset, 2 minute video showing you booting up the console running your code and launching eshop games from sky3ds and everyone would be like "oh ok maybe its real" if you can figure out how to hack the 3ds in what? 1 ½ days surely you can figure out how youtube works in say 5 minutes?....do you HAVE to prove yourself? no ofc not, but will people take your word for it?......the odd one or 2 that are still waiting for their bank transfer from Nigeria, but most people will not without any proof except for a screenshot of sky3ds disk writer saying "transferring".....why would you even do that twice? test game, it works , transfer again as "proof" when anyone can transfer it to the card, but that doesn't make it playable

30 seconds to film .3GP video. 2 minutes to transfer to PC. 1 minute for youtube account creation, 5 minutes to upload the vid, and 2 minutes to post link to GBATEMP. Were talking 10 minutes give or take, of work to shut everyone up and finally say "i told you so!"

For the record, I posted the screenshot from my computer not Penny. Then Fox posted it from his to show that creating the template wasn't that hard. I didn't think it was anything too exciting to merit anything more than the screenshot.

I'm interested to see if she actually got it working or she's just trolling us. Could go either way at this point.

Even if she didn't have YouTube or know how to use it. She can send the exploit itself to Fox or some other trusted member as proof. Or just post the instructions on how to do it yourself.
